Some time late August (I believe the 25th or 26th), still plenty of time to go. Its going to be for the PRIDE FC heavyweight championship belt.

Plus James Toney I dont think I have ever seen seriously hurt, and like you showed before he has beaten awsome fighters over his career. Plus there is no other fighter with that ring calm he has.

How about when he got knocked down by roy jones jr.?

He was pretty off balance when he was knocked down. Thats why Jones didnt pursue hard, he knew he wasnt hurt. Watch the fight

Otto, he may not clean out the division or anything but he really has about as much of a chance to succeed in the division as anyone. Nobody is very proven at HW.

Struggling with Jirov at Cruiserweight isn't exactly a bad thing considering that Jirov was the Cruiserweight KING at the time, and Toney was already 30 pounds north of his original weight. What you have to respect though is the fact that he was the stronger fighter at the end of the fight...and would have knocked Jirov into next week if he had another round to do it.

Toney DOMINATED Holyfield and Booker, and he layed a thorough beating on Ruiz. Remember, this was how the fight results read...Toney didn't LOSE to Ruiz...he was just caught with steroids in his system.

This fight was originally a unanimous decision win for James Toney.
Following this bout James Toney tested positive for a banned substance and the decision was changed to a "No Contest" by the New York State Athletic Commission on Wednesday May 11th.

I was never a Whitaker fan....but he's probably the best fighter of my era ('81 to now).
            His resume speaks for itself.

Leonard could be the #1 fighter, but there were a few too many gaps. Inactivity & tainted wins take away from his incredible wins, & amazing all-around ability.
