Sure, he blow Clottey away. But it'll forever stink as to why he let De La Hoya come in at the limit, then imposed the catchweight on Cotto, only to let Clottey come in at the limit 4 months later.

Did he not feel confident enough to similarly destroy Cotto, a top 5 WW, at the full 147 limit? The same can be said for this Margarito fight - is he that frightened of letting a LMW come in at the divisional limit; hence he can only destroy him at 150?

Well you said he was frightened to face WW at their regular weight which is not true and an exageration. I'll give you the Cotto fight, but he proved his worth with a dominating performance over Clottey, a guy who beat Cotto and also was dominating Judah and beating Baldomir.

And as for Margarito fight, Manny is not a LMW and I don't expect him to fight them. If he does that is on him and I can only look at it as a feather in his hat. If Marquez was fighting Margarito at 150 no one would be complaining rather people would think JMM was crazy. Hell 99% of this board laughed at thought of Manny facing Margarito at 147 just a year ago and now people are upset about him facing him at 150. Now if it's about the title thats a whole other can of worms but I don't see how weighing in at 150 affects Margarito.

I know damn well you didn't but you are expecting Manny to face all these big JMW who campaign at MW when Manny has just recently moved up in weight. So what are you really saying? Personally it seems that your a bigger fan of Manny than I am because I feel Manny gets killed by Martinez as he is way to big. Maybe in a year or so if Manny puts on weight are proves himself, but definably not right now.

As I stated in that post, points 2 & 3 of mine still holds true. Manny's first goal is to get the title at that division, if the opportunity arises. It did with Margo, so he took it. If they think that Margo is less of a threat than Martinez then why go for Martinez now? Manny can do that next time around.

I had the same example as Copeland. Roy Jones Jr wanted to get the HW title. He didn't care who he faced, he just wanted to be in the history books. Ruiz was nowhere near the same class as a Lewis and had stumbled to get the title, to begin with. So if someone like RJJ can do it that way, then why not Manny?

Honestly Martinez had the WBC belt gift wrapped and handed to him as well. He fought Cintron for a vacant title, and while I agree he clearly won, it was declared a draw...meaning he was never the true champ to begin with.

Not that any of this matters, as Martinez is the Champ at 160....just some FYI.

Most of the word "Pacquaio" in this thread should be substituted by "Roach". Roach has the majority say in who Manny fights, and he would have a huge disapproval to this type of matchup taking place.

I think Martinez is actually bigger as there is no way in hell he could make 147, whereas Margarito still could (he might look like **** but he could still do it). I aggree that Martinez is more skilled but honestly I wish Margarito was facing Martinez instead of Pacquiao. I'm curious as to what would happen in that fight as I don't think it will turn out as most expect.

Honestly Martinez would Kill Manny at 154...so if you want to watch to see Manny destroyed then this is the fight for you.
