I would say yes cause IMO, Jacobs was not ready for that fight, but Pirog is good fighter, ready for some bigger names, his next fights will tell us more about him. The MM have some good prospects and it won't be easy for anybody in that division in the next 2 or 3 years.

If it was the other way around, and Jacobs KO'd Pirog, everybody would be saying Jacobs is the best fighter on the planet.

anytime a prospect/young fighter gets his first big win he's the next great thing and when he gets his first loss he's an overrated hype job

not true at all. pirog isn't known nearly enough for jacobs to be flaunted around as the next great (if he got through pirog) pavlik yes, Martinez yes, williams yes.

after watching the smith jacobs fight many fans knew that jacobs was nothing of what golden boy proclaimed him to be.

the only thing is, many people came to the conclusion that jacobs was a overrated hype job before he fought Pirogin. ishe smith taught us that jacobs was over hyped.

Yeah people probably are over-rating Pirog at the moment. That's not to say Pirog can't/won't end up being really good, but as you said Jacobs was pretty unproven and young compared to Pirog. Still, even though Pirog is 30 that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't still getting better. He just isn't likely to have the type of upside on his career that he might have if he pulled a win like this off in his mid 20s.

That said, considering his advanced age for a guy with only 17 pro fights I think he's much more likely to sign on for good fights at 160 and we'll get an idea of just how good he's going to be at 160 over the next year.

3-1 underdog beats the favorite by a highlight KO, both undefeated fighting for a major title. Pirog just came out of nowhere, yeah, I can see how people would be excited.

I wasn't referring to Jacobs specifically, I've seen nsb react that way for every prospect's first loss...

A little. I mean he is good but ****riders will want ****rides. They don't bother me. The ones that do are the ones who will try to start hate threads, but those are all ignored so it's ok. Decent fans will not hate on others and those i respect. I'm a Pirov fan too.

The euro nuthuggers are getting their panties in a twist but fighters often get over rated after one pretty good win,it will calm down in a few weeks i reckon
