I didn't see any problem with the scoring. It was still Pirog's fight though. He was controlling the pace and was setting it up for a late rounds KO. I think you'll most likely even find he was willing to give up the early rounds to do what he did, which was pressure Jacobs, get him to throw lots of shots and wear him down.

Jacobs did land more and was up on my card but I still knew Pirog was going to win because it was obvious he was just starting to implement his game plan. I don't know what the problem is? No one is pretending Jacobs was winning and was the better fighter. You still have to score his punches and he did land quite a few more but they didn't bother Pirog and most were not hard, flush shots.

The scoring was fine, but most importantly, none of it matters because Jacobs got KTFO and Pirog is an exciting new champion capable of very good things. Can't wait to see who they match him up with next.

Before anyone calls me racist for having Jacobs up on the scoring. Go watch the fight again and score it round by round properly. The whole time Pirog was implementing his plan and it was working, but I guarantee you that even he knew he was going to lose those rounds or did lose them simply because he needed to push and push, make Jacobs throw all those shots. It's not something against Pirog. It was an excellent plan and it worked perfectly. I don't get what people are crying about. I actually thought it was pretty obvious.

Oh well, I'm just glad Pirog won. We have a very cool new MW chap. Him and Martinez would be fascinating.

The corrupt judges were gonna try to rob Pirog.

Pirog was winning 39-36 on my scorecard before the knockout. He should've been credited with a knockdown in round 2.

        My scorecard:

        R1 - Pirog 10-9
        R2 - Pirog 10-8
        R3 - Jacobs 10-9
        R4 - Pirog 10-9
R5 - Pirog wins by spectacular KO
THANK THE LORD ALMIGHTY, YOU ARE NOT A CERTIFIED JUDGE
*that knockdown in rd 2 occurred in fantasy land

I had it even going into the 5th but the 1st round was a swing round and could have put Pirog up 3-1 going into the 5th.

Still you have to believe being that it was a competitive fight, if it went to the cards no way would Danny have not walked away with that belt.

Props to Pirog for such an impressive ko and taking it out of corrupt promotional hands.

I was rooting for Danny as I pegged him as a future star years ago, but I knew he was completely the ****ed as soon as I saw the look on Danny's face that first round. Pirog was slipping, rolling, smashing Danny with hard shot and laughing when Danny hit him. You could tell who's shot were doing damage and you could see that Pirog's defense was evading or taking the steam off Danny's shots. I didn't score it, but it is academic as Pirog knocked him out, and if the knock out hadn't come when it did it was only a matter of time. Pirog was and is the better fighter.

Hopefully he gets some top 20, low top 10 guys to defend against before making unifications with Sturm, Sylvester.

Pirog almost knocked him out in the second then finished Danny in the 5th, it was easy to see who was in charge of the fight.

Round 1 was a bit of a toss up but I was probably intrigued by Pirog's style, and saw him land the more powerful shots so i gave it to him.
                    Round 2 was clearly Pirog
Round 3 was Jacobs's round with a couple of decent combinations culminating in the one two that Pirog basically pulled his head into.
Round 4 was a Pirog round because he was walking down Jacobs the entire time, and was managing to land some good blows, while not getting hit.
                    Round 5, WOW...

I was actually quite shocked at the compubox statistics at the end of every round. Jacobs was landing a mid 20% to Pirogs lower 10%. Either way I knew exactly who was winning the fight regardless of the statistics.
