Haye and Povetkin should just retire

I have gone from being a Haye fan to not liking the guy at all, the fame seems to have gone to his head. He has some talent but he is wasting it and i tell you he is starting to loose a lot of fans, at a recent charity football event he was getting a lot of stick from the fans. As far as i can tell he has made millions in his 2 heavyweight title fights and no longer has the desire to fight anymore, I wouldn’t be surprised if he never fights again tbh or maybe after a while he will get bored and take one last fight with Wlad or Vitali, but i tell you he will only fight 1 more time imo.

No because its not about any of them fighting bums, it about Haye and Povetkin not having the desire to be the best and even try.

When Vitali was a contender he fought Lennox and came up short.

After Vitali retired due to injury, Wlad by process of elimination became the man at HW which he is now.

Both are proven elite HWs and Vitali is fighting these guys now maybe because the HW division is cleaned out other than Adamek who is busy with the Grant fight coming up.

If they don't want to be the best at what they do or even seem to want to try then why should I or anyone even care about anything else they are doing in the sport?

Both should just go away and retire seeing as they are already semi retired as is.

I know boxing is a business but its also a sport and if neither wants to be champion then why be a pro athlete for anything other than $$$?

I don't know about you but I am not interested in seeing fighters just cash pay checks against softies. Haye should go be an actor or whatever he wants to really do and Povetkin though a less glamorous profession should just go back to Russia and farm turnips or whatever.

We need HW contenders who want to try and actually believe they can take the title from Wlad, so props to Sam Peter.

if you ask Haye who is a title holder to retire because he doesn't fight the best in his division, then you should be asking that Khan, Juanma, Sturm, the WBO middleweight champ Robert Stieglitz, etc., all those guys ducking the real challenges in their division to retire

and it would still be ridiculous

How about just scheduling a fight? Would that be too much to ask? It's August. If he scheduled a fight today, he wouldn't be able to fight for three months.

He's going to end up not fighting this year if he doesn't sign a fight this month guaranteed.
