Danny is still a stud in my eyes, speed, power when he sits on his punches, and a ****load of upside. I just believe Pirog was much closer to where he needs to be where Danny was. There is still a ton DJ needs to work on (mainly his balance, his defense after throwing combos AND KEEPING HIS ****ING HANDS UP) but after a few more years of seasoning he will be taking over the divison.
I gotta disagree dude, I've been following Jacobs for many years and had high hopes but Golovkin is the future ATG at 160...

It's always the shots you don't see that hurt the worst. But I have a hard time believing that Jacobs has no power, I just think Pirog was able to avoid and block almost everything where Danny was planted or moving forward, and Pirog was able to keep him moving backward for much of the fight.

Cringing back up against the ropes and defence low like that.
Jacobs was actually trying throw a right hand of his own, when he got caught. Pirog just beat him to the punch, with his own right hand, and it was good night Irene.

Danny was one fight away from the Mosely/Mora undercard. He was exposed.
There are many accounts of personal loss pushing fighters to a level of passion that they would never have achieved otherwise.
Buster Douglas lost his Mother and found his calling.
Every error within Jocobs arsonal was evident on Saturday.
It's back to ESPN along with "The Nightmare" until he hones what he does correctly.

I didn't mean DOMINATE, too much upcoming talent I meant able to compete and beat all the big names. He has to work on his defense, keeping his hands up and he definitely has to work on his adjusments. He never looked comfortable the entire fight. The reason I admire FMJ the most is his ability to see a style, use his boxing mind to figure it out and then counter that style. DJ won't reach that level but with more seasoning he could get himself into better footing to deal with any style. Lemieux is my favorite prospect right after Jacobs. That's a bad style match up for David though. Unless he can get in, which he probably could. A boxer/counter puncher is just horrible for him, especially if he can't get in.
I'v always viewed Jacobs this way and still do. He's a very good all around fighter but he's not exceptional in any one area. The reason i said what i did is the guys i mentioned in addition to being very good all round are exceptional in at least one respect imo.
