He is so well polished and so comfortable in the ring, I wasn't suprised, but I was even more impressed than I thought I would be. Danny is still a stud in my eyes, speed, power when he sits on his punches, and a ****load of upside. I just believe Pirog was much closer to where he needs to be where Danny was. There is still a ton DJ needs to work on (mainly his balance, his defense after throwing combos AND KEEPING HIS ****ING HANDS UP) but after a few more years of seasoning he will be taking over the divison.
I like Jacobs, solid fighter and all the fickles on here writing him off ridiculous BUT you really think he'll take over MW? He may get to a point where he could compete and/or beat a Golovkin, N'jikam, Korobov, Pirog, Lemieux but no way in hell will he rule over multiples. too deep.

(tbh i don't see him beating the first 4 ever, perhaps Lemieux too)

Had Jacobs gotten up, he would have eaten another crazy right and possibly gotten hurt in there.

I thought this was a little funny. Some of you may have seen this.

Barstool Boxing Brooklyn: Danny Jacobs Interview

Go to 1:25 and watch until 3:45

It kind of sucks about lastnight because Jacobs really does seem like a level headed guy. He's very polite too he kind of reminds me of Troy Ross. I just thought it was funny that Jacobs was laughing about Pirog scoring KO's.

These fighters nowadays get too much hype without being fully
tested. Perfect example "Victor Ortiz" These promoters are too
busy trying to make the next young star that when the fighters
finally get tested they fold and get beat by real fighters. I see
the same thing happening to Kahn when he finally gets in with
someone at his legit weight class.

He has so much talent and ability if he fixes some of his glaring flaws and seasons up his boxing IQ he could rule, as in being able to beat any of the ones you mentioned. I didn't mean DOMINATE, too much upcoming talent I meant able to compete and beat all the big names. He has to work on his defense, keeping his hands up and he definitely has to work on his adjusments. He never looked comfortable the entire fight. The reason I admire FMJ the most is his ability to see a style, use his boxing mind to figure it out and then counter that style. DJ won't reach that level but with more seasoning he could get himself into better footing to deal with any style. Lemieux is my favorite prospect right after Jacobs. That's a bad style match up for David though. Unless he can get in, which he probably could. A boxer/counter puncher is just horrible for him, especially if he can't get in.

I think he should of been give a chance to get up as well, but he might his career might have been saved by stopping it b/c there was no was no way he should have been in the ring with Pirog anyway. The Haymon expressed rushed this kid right to the title with his best win being over Ishe Smith a 154 lber. Lets see if Fernando Guererro is eager to get in there with Pirog!!

It was clear from the first bell that Pirog was there to rip Jacobs to shreds. Jacobs looked like paper with "OK" printed on it.
