This fight HAS to happen. There's no way you can't have a fight between the two top fighters in the world today. It has to happen in 2011. Letting it slip would only hurt boxing and make it sink even more. When you have two top fighters in the world today, there's no ifs or buts. The fans want it and the fans deserve it. I just don't see a reason why this fight wouldn't happen or why they wouldn't give it to the fans.

umm Floyd???, ur usually a very decent poster but that was wack Mak, this fight was at its peak back in march during the first negotiation, Pacman destroyed Cotto and Mayweathe outclassed marquez, Pac killed it then because he denied something he was bound to agree with, The TESTS!. back then right after Pac beat Cotto they posted the reoport on the FRONT PAGE 1ST SLOT OF YAHOO!!!. Same after Mayweather beat Marquez, FRONT PAGE 1ST SLOT OF YAHOO!!!. now its not as big but still monumental. But I completely agree on pinning the folly of this one entirely on Mayweather this time around. Both fcked up bad which is why they are both to blame.

True I think the interest for the fight will never get bigger but Tyson vs Lewis were two guys past their prime and that fight still got over 2 million buys.

Probably asking for too much, but if they ever do agree to fight can they please negotiate (and by negotiate, I mean where both sides fully realize they are negotiating) in absolute secret and only announce the news when all contracts have been signed?

No more lame negotiating drama please.

Even hardcore fans are getting tired of all this. If it ever does happen it will be great but you're right, it won't be what it could have been in March or even this Novemeber or December.

Floyd acts like he owns the sport of boxing. He wants to make rules for a sport that already has rules, and their not bad to begin with. I think Floyd forgets what he realy is, and that's a fighter. Another fighter in the sport of boxing. No matter how big he is, when it comes down to it he's another fighter. And there's nothing wrong with that, Tyson always knew his place. Ali knew his place, why doesn't Floyd know his place? It gets really irritating when these big ego's are stopping fights from ever happening.

I definitely don't think it will break the DLH/Mayweather PPV record anymore. Casual fans are losing interest at this point. There is no more, "they're trying to build it up for next year". This **** already peaked.

Both Pac and May missed the boat on this one.
                  i agree!

LOL @ everybody saying all this is more "hype" and more "buildup."

even i'm not as excited about the fight, as i was last november.
