Its not about defending Pac. Margarito last attempted a shot at JMW in 2004 when he lost to Santos. Since then he's been a WW. Now if Marg were a lifelong MW, then I would be bashing Pac for trying to take his opponent out of his element by trying to drop him to an uncomfortable weight. Fact is, Marg has went on the record to say that he'll go back down to WW to face Pac. Making 150 will be no problem for Margarito. If anything, its Pac who will be at a disadvantage given Margarito's size.

There's no such thing as a 154lb title. Its called a JMW title, and that falls anywhere between 148-154lbs.

Unless both fighters agreed otherwise. In this case, Margarito is willing to fight at 150 which is also within JWW standards.
