There is a thing called weight classes guys. Just because an agreement is made for a fighter to fight at a lighter weight than the actual limit of the weightclass, doesnt mean it shouldnt be a title fight as long as both fighters are fighting within the weightclass bracket.

Respect the point but disagree. The max weight is 154 lbs. Both fighters should be able to weigh up to 154lbs. If a fighter imposes a clause that the max weight is 150 that circumvents the class. If this is not for a title then I have no problem.

If margarito comes in at 152, he will face a penalty. How is that possible if the class max is 154?

Leonard vs Lalonde was for 2 belts at once. super middleweight and Lt heavy. next fight he defended 168, next fight was for 154 belt. whoever wrote this needs to learn his boxing "history" and stop worshipping Mayweathers scared little nuts.

I think Pac. If not he wouldn't request a catchweight. But IMO the question is irrelevant, as long as both weigh under 154.

giving a cheater a payday instead of a more deserving opponent, just because cheater is in-house

fighting for a belt in a division where neither has earned the right

fighting for said belt at a catchweight

why are people so upset with a catch weight. margarito fought at 147 a couple years ago and pac has never fought at 154. i don't think their should be a title on the line, or that margs should make a single penny for this fight. plus if he is fighting at 154 i would much rather see him against martinez or williams, where the risk/reward is better, if manny wins, he will not and should not be praised for the win. i mean those 2 guys in the ring will no doubt be exciting, but marks got ko'd, caught cheating, and since then has done absolutely nothing to prove he is back in the ranks of the elite in boxing.
