    R U Serious

This will be Pac's 2nd fight at a catch weight. 2 out of 56 is a lot??? Who educated the guy writing this article? Catch weights is the new era of boxing. Boxing evolves like we use to have dial-up now we have high speed wireless. Boxers negotiate on ring size, gloves, rounds, who walks to the ring first, new special drug test, etc. etc. So if a 5'6" guy who fought mostly under 130 pounds wants to fight a 5'11" guy who mostly fought at 147 pounds and above at 150 pounds I don't see the big deal. The main reason for catch weights now vs. the past. In the past you had to weigh-in the day of the fight. Guys would come in 3 to 5 pounds over. Now with 28 to 32 hours to recover guys can come in at 10 to 17 pounds over. So is Manny cheating history? Or is history cheating itself for no longer having weigh-ins the day of the fight? Fair question

Manny Pacquiao, The Catchweight Champion, honestly he is just a 6 division champ, he never won a title at 147 & now wants 150 limit.

The cheating history refers to the titles. If you are making claims of being a 7 div champ yet the last title you won was not at the max limit, that takes away from the title, no matter who you are. Add to it, the fighter Manny is most compared to, floyd mayweather jr, has won titles in the same weight classes but has not needed weight clauses to do so.

Catchweights were used in the past because there were fewer division and, as such, more weight between divisions. It went from 135-147-160, there was no 140 or 154. Hence if the ww champ was fighting the mw champ, a cathcweight was needed. They don't need them now with only 6 or 7 lbs seperating divisions.

There is a thing called weight classes guys. Just because an agreement is made for a fighter to fight at a lighter weight than the actual limit of the weightclass, doesnt mean it shouldnt be a title fight as long as both fighters are fighting within the weightclass bracket.
That bracket allows you to come in at 147 at the lowest and 154 at the highest. If you change what a fighter can come in at the max, you are changing the weight class. Plain and simple.

I have no problem with Manny fighting Margo at 150 but not for the WBC title.
                It's not serious...

The WBC is to blame if they put it on the line...

I think that pac has is at a disadvantage, but thats part of the promo a "Small" fighter moving up. problem is he wants the title on the line and that the same title others won while fighting their opponents at the weights limit. easy as pie: 150 lbs no title every1's happy (well... at least content), 150lbs with title boooooooo.......

Great piece, I'm disgusted with this fight and no longer have any respect for Pac and his accomplishments, there is nothing positive about this fight and despite still being a Tony fan I have to say I'm really dissapointed in this.
