Is Mayweather scared of Pacquiao?

Apparently boxing fans won’t get to see the fight of the millennium between Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather Jr. (41-0 with 25 KO’s) and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (51-3-2 with 38 KO’s).

Well, not this year at least.

We’ll have to wait to find out who’s the true pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.
Pacquiao has agreed to fight Antonio Margarito on Nov. 13 for the vacant junior middleweight belt.

The bout was supposed to be at Cowboys Stadium in Texas, but it’s now uncertain because Margarito is unlicensed to fight in the United States.

This announcement comes as a huge let down for boxing fans from both camps.
Mayweather fans usually can see no wrong in “Pretty Boy,” but after his recent silence, even Mayweather die-hards are scratching their heads.

“I’m not interested in rushing to do anything,” Mayweather said.
There has even been rumor that Mayweather Sr. doesn’t like his son fighting left-handed fighters.

“Pac Man” has finally agreed to all of Floyd’s drug-testing guidelines up to the day of the fight.

Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, said Mayweather is the number one fight on their radar. Floyd was given ample time to agree to terms before the Pacquiao camps deadline, but no word was relayed.
Mayweather advisor Leonard Ellerbe issued a statement saying no talks ever took place.
This has clearly turned into a case of he-said she-said.

Boxing is a dying sport that is in desperate need of new fans and this is not the way to go about it.

Good point. But i personally can't defend Manny this time if he does fight Marg at 150lbs. IMO, why not just fight at 147lbs, Cotto and Marg fought at 147lbs. If he can't do 154lbs then don't do it at that weight class then. I didn't have a problem between Manny vs Cotto at 146lbs since it's only 1lb difference and Cotto himself said that it was his normal weight at WW, but this time is not acceptable for me. But you do have a good and valid point about other great fighters in the past that fought in a catch weight, most people that are complaining right now about Manny are just *****s and Manny haters, nothing new.

i dont agree with catchwieghts either but why is everyone complaiini about it now when its pac.....why not when bhop, hoya ,trinidad, chavez sr, sweetpea, leonard was doing itor atleat in a thread concerning them?..catchweight has been around too long and is part of commmision rules.....suck it up!

How in the world is he getting a shot at the 154 title? It is vacant, and the current 154 fighters should have a shot at it...not a guy who never fought at 154.

And how the heck does he get a shot at a vacant 154 title at 150? back-to-back catchweight title attempts?

Why is Pac is demanding so many catchweights? There has been catchweight fights before but this would be the third fight that the catchweight only benefits Pac. This is a meaningless fight anyway, I don't get how Margo is a mandatory for a 154 belt

We need to stop focusing on Pac - This is Bob Arums doing... Catchweights, Manny's opponents, all the BS stipulations back and forth is ALL Bob Arum... I haven't heard anything from Pac's mouth... Until i do, i am putting all the blame on Arum - period

Secondly - Why in the **** aren't the sanctioning bodies of these belts pushing back against this catchweight BS, and why aren't this belt industries pushing back on fighters who deserve it being placed as the mandatory...ANSWER: Money and Bob Arum...


1. Top Tier fighters don't even want to pay the fees to win the belt
2. The Belt owners are stripping fighters for not paying and/or not fighting certain fighters
3. Bob Arum will pay these Alphabelt Co. whatever they want as long as his stable keeps wearing the titles...

I really don't think Pac is sitting at the negotiating table saying i only want to fight at 154 and it better be for a belt..

This is Arum doing what Arum does best..> Getting the most **** for his buck and with the most advantages as possible. All at the expense of another Top Rank fighter...
