But yea, they prolly aren't gonna earn any money with that.

It has always been top rank providing those independent ppv that sells (and sometimes not).
They don't sell. Please get me a link to a successful Top Rank PPV. Last one sold 15k with Margarito headlining.

This would definitely be a good scrap... Angulo is like a young Margs (who happens to be the only guy to stop Sergio). But I'm still more interested in Sergio vs Pwill II. I felt that Sergio won the 1st fight, and I'd love to see him make his point the second time around. And I'm pretty confident that he will since he was taxing Pwill pretty f'n hard that night.

HBO should either tell Williams to stop being so difficult or put enough money in the pot to where both fighters are satisfied.

I'm torn because Sergio deserves an opponent that's good, but not as difficult as Williams; Martinez-Angulo is a stylistic mismatch and Angulo should try to avenge his loss to Cintron before going at Martinez.

Al Haymon is probably pulling strings from behind the scene, telling HBO to turn it down for 1 client and force his other client into the picture.

But Bob Arum does it all the time with crappy cards that no major network is understandably interested in. Even worst they are 40 bucks(that's a lot for such crap cards) and only sell less than 100k each. Last one sold 15k. Pathetic numbers.

Even Hopkins-Jones II(two 40 year olds who need to retire) sold more than those Latin Fury/Pinoy Power cards.

Well most of those PPV by Top rank are crap, All those latin fury or whatever he calls them are just ways to exploit latino fans who back their favourite fighters.

I dont know what to think anymore, Is williams saying NO because he doesnt want the fight or is the money on offer by HBO not enough for both fighters?

That's probably because they have no leverage on Pacquiao and especially Floyd. There is probably a Multi-fight contract between HBO & Mayweather. He has to fight on their network BUT if they're not willing to televise his fights because they don't like their opponent, he is free to walk and take his PPV drawing power elsewhere. They don't want that.

With Williams on the other hand, he can't even sell out a little arena, yet alone sell PPV's and probably has no long-term contract with HBO, so like the Klitschko's, they can dictate to him. Williams like Wlad though, can tell them to shove it and go to Showtime.

Williams at one point was the Devon Alexander of boxing, meaning he was saying the right things, calling out the right fighters...which was Margarito at that time.

But now like everybody else, he wants that money. And he probably wants longevity, fighting Martinez in another war unless he is getting more money is something he doesn't wanna do, is my guess. So he is holding out for something bigger with probably less risk.

While I can appreciate HBO trying to make a rematch between Martinez and Williams, they shouldn't refuse to air fights between Martinez and Williams against other opponents, especially if their opponents make for good fights.

And the more reason i alway laugh at fans who claim some fighters would fight anyone, When they are on the outside looking in then they would be willing to fight anyone, Once they get in that attitude changes.

That's exactly my opinion on the subject, Dont show either fighter on HBO unless they fight each other first.
