Gotta go with street bully on this. Berto is like Jermain taylor. HBO keeps telling me how good they (were) are but I don't see it when they fight.

Clotteys career in a nutshell right there.

I don't know why you are so impressed with Clottey, either.

I don't see what you see.

Also I don't think berto is physically strong enough to man handle and push margarito around the ring like Mosley did. Mosley used to be a body builder and is very strong.

You can use the Collazo fight as a gauge. Mosley was tossing Collazo around like a rag doll, and looked to be far stronger, where as Berto at times was being pushed and held on the ropes by Collazo.
And yet, with all that, Floyd was bossing Mosley around the ring all night.

Mosley has proven himself vulnerable to stylistic, as well as physical, matchups. If Berto dances and boxes, he will trouble Mosley with his handspeed.

Andre ends up getting KO'd when Shane lands. Still. Because he doesn't have Floyd's composure, chin and smarts.

          They are different jabs.

Cotto has the better timing with his jab.

Berto is more fast and explosive with his jab.

Berto will paw with his jab to get distance but he will also snap out with it.

Just when I thought we could have a thread that doesn't involve Floyd... here come Vito to the rescue.

Eh I hardly see him snap it I just mainly see him paw with it and sometimes just gets countered when he does that because hes so open.

He did exactly what I talked about in the Quintana fight. He paws and paws, and then he snapped with it, it landed... and set him up for a body shot and left hook that rocked Quintana.

He has also pawed a lot more than snapped in his last 3 fights because they were all southpaws. Collazo, Urango, & Quintana. He paws to find his distance and to also block and catch his opponents jab.

Against orthodox fighters he uses his jab a lot more, which Cotto is.

I'm actually not very impressed with Clottey. He has what it takes to beat berto though. he has also fought better fighters, and only lost one which was beyond his control.

Berto is pretty vulnerable, and gets hit too mcuh.
