the point is, it's pointless to argue this point.

    do you get my point?

Yep, it's been said NUMEROUS times by Arum and Pac. They want the fight with Floyd... All Floyd has to do is say he wants the fight. Yet, some posters on here don't seem to bring that up. Instead they make excuses as to why negotiations were NOT taking place. These guys are see through.

        Isn't that right, Tesla?
yet GBP said the fights is close to a done deal.

so who is lying ellerbe or gbp?

Is this not a factually wrong statement by Hauser? Let's see if you can candidly admit that, or if you will blatantly lie and pretend not to understand.
Ellerbe went on record on May10. But the article you have on June 14 just stated Mayo that the Ellerbe said no nego took place. Who knows if the june14 article is actually based on that may10 quote. Care to enlighten me.

No actual quotes exist somewhere between the timeline of June30 and July16 which is reasonable to deduce from the article by Hauser. This is the timeline from the Arum declaration of a deadline to the actual deadline.

If you want me to admit that Hauser is lying based on a May10 or June14* quote by Ellerbe, then ok. If you can provide a quote much closer or within the said timeline, that would mean either Hauser is wrong, misinformed, or plainly didn't know such quote from the Floyd camp exist.

Now, I did say that the actual quotes from Hauser is right. Those are the facts. The rest are his deduction/opinion based on those quotes. Tell me, do you find Mayo or Magno more reputable than Hauser?

            1) Why do you conveniently ignore that BOTH Oscar and Schaefer retracted that statement immediately
            2) Arum said that GBP was never involved, and had no contact

            Right?

Floyd apologists are feebleminded. Who's buying the NO NEGOTIATIONS excuses???? I can't see any reason why they don't wanna negotiate a fight with this magnitude. The only possible and logical reason is Floyd does not want to fight.

I pity people like you. People who can't admit an obvious fact in front of their face: Nobody is telling you to love Floyd. Just effin admit the proven fact here.

Yes, Thomas Hauser was wrong on the basis he used for "undermining Ellerbe's position."

Cory Olsen | The Grand Rapids PressLeonard Ellerbe, left, on Monday said initial pay-per-view numbers show Floyd Mayweather will gross about $40 million for his May 1 fight against Shane Mosley, which would be the second-highest purse in boxing history.Floyd Mayweather’s adviser vehemently denied an Associated Press report Monday that talks for a Manny Pacquiao fight could resume as soon as Tuesday.

The report was based on an interview Monday with Freddie Roach, who trains Pacquiao but is not involved with the Filipino star in a negotiating capacity.

Share Roach’s remark turned into an international story, which Leonard Ellerbe dismissed as "ridiculous."

“Ain’t nobody thinking about Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum or Freddie Roach,” Ellerbe said. “Floyd isn’t thinking about none of them, and there ain’t no negotiations starting, period. Floyd is just coming off a great win. He’s not thinking about any of them.”

Ellerbe: Team Mayweather Is Not In Negotiations For Pacquiao Bout
By Paul Magno - June 14, 2010 | Email the author Quick, somebody inform Bob Arum and Team Pacquiao that they’ve dialed the wrong number and are not in negotiations with Team Mayweather after all.

They’ve obviously reached an impostor who has somehow conned them into thinking that they are dealing with Floyd’s representatives. I mean, what else could be the answer? Bob Arum has been releasing succulent insider tidbits about the ongoing negotiations between both camps for the last several weeks. Despite the “gag order” imposed on both parties, we’ve heard about hammered-out blood testing issues and offers from Abu Dhabi worth a camel for Arum and “gazillions” for the right to host the fight.

All of this must come as a surprise to Mayweather adviser and spokesman, Leonard Ellerbe, who has publicly stated that nobody has contacted him or anyone from Team Mayweather to even begin negotiations for a Pacquiao bout.

Speaking to David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press, Ellerbe went on record as saying that there have been no talks taking place and that Mayweather is enjoying his time off after beating Shane Mosley via one-sided unanimous decision last month.

Not so fast: Manny Pacquiao v Floyd Mayweather still some way off
Pacquiao vs. Mayweather negotiations, what’s different this time around?
Simpleton’s guide to making Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao bout
MANILA, Philippines – Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya spilled the beans on the confidential negotiations for the super showdown between top pound-for-pound fighters Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
In an interview with Spanish broadcasting network Univision, de la Hoya said they are “very close in finalizing the contracts that were once very complicated.”
“I think right now we are very, very close in finalizing the contracts. I can’t talk right now in detail about the negotiations but I will say that we are very close,” de la Hoya was quoted by TheBoxingTruth.com.
The negotiations are being done by Pacquiao’s promoter, Top Rank, Inc. big boss Bob Arum, and Mayweather’s representative, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.
“Up until now, it’s been a very difficult negotiation process for various reasons but right now we’re very close,” added de la Hoya.
Seven-division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao
Pacquiao and Mayweather were supposed to face off last March 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. But fight talks collapsed because the boxers disagreed on the drug testing protocol
Pacquiao refused to undergo the Olympic-style drug testing procedure, but reversed his stand as long as the blood test would be conducted 14 days before the fight.
Mayweather, who had been silent since Pacquiao’s agreement to undergo blood testing, then made waves with his pronouncement that he would be taking a break from boxing.
Despite this, Arum said the Pacquiao-Mayweather blockbuster bout was still in the cards.
“The two fighters now realize that this fight must be made. It has to be made because the boxing fans want to see it happen and right now it’s the biggest fight that can be made in the world,” continued de la Hoya.
The Mexican-American boxing legend, who suffered his last 2 career losses to Mayweather and Pacquiao, stated: “It’s going to be a big, big fight!”

Manny Pacquiao & Floyd Mayweather, JR Agree to Fight – Signatures Only Thing Needed on Finalized Contract
                  June 16th, 2010 Bad Brad
                  By “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

“The long anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao, 51-3-2, 38 KO’s and Floyd Mayweather, JR., 41-0, 25 KO’s is a done deal with only signatures needed on the printed contract” said a very reliable inside source close to Team Mayweather who has just contacted RSR. This inside source went on to say, “Floyd is very happy that both sides could work out issues that he always felt could be talked out.” Floyd is anticipating on making well over 50 million dollars with Manny making almost the same. Tentative dates being kicked around for an HBO PPV is the middle to end of November 2010 and if this does happen there is no doubt that this fight will be the biggest grossing in history.

In recent articles, both Promoters Oscar De La Hoya and Bob Arum have thrown tidbits out that the fight was very close to being made which back up RSR’s source as well. Arum, recently has been putting fights on in Stadium Venues with great success and the boxing public is craving for this fight to also be in a stadium which without any doubt will be sold out in hours!

Golden Boy Confirms Mega Fight Close To A Done Deal

Boxing’s Golden Boy Oscar Dela Hoya may not be fighting anymore but he is close to getting another standing ovation if he can finally get the two best boxers (Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao) in recent history to sign on the dotted line to fight each other in what will no doubt be a super fight.

During an interview with a Spanish network Univision, Oscar Dela Hoya had the following to say:

“Up until now, it’s been a very difficult negotiation process for various reasons but right now we’re very close.”

“We’re very close in finalizing the contracts that were once very complicated. The two fighters now realize that this fight must be made. It has to be made because the boxing fans want to see it happen and right now it’s the biggest fight that can be made in the world.”

“It’s going to be a big, BIG fight!”

“I think right now we are very, very close in finalizing the contracts. I can’t talk right now in detail about the negotiations but I will say that we are very close.”

These statements would definitely put Floyd’s recent talk of retirement into question if they are still actively negotiating for him to fight Pacquiao this year. It could again be a ploy of Mayweather to hype the fight beyond the stratosphere since this fight does not lack the publicity whatsoever.

C’mon Oscar no more gimmicks and bring us the fight that the world is really waiting for.

                  RIGHT! FACT IS BEAUTIFUL VITO.

GBP AND ELLERBE CONTRACDICT EACH OTHER.

It was a June article with no actual quotes in place. You are saying that I should take Magno's word by extension Mayo by extension Ellerbe? And for the record, I don't hate FLoyd. He is my 2nd/3rd favorite fighter.

If Hauser is wrong based on that, I did say ok. Check my post again. What was it that you want me to admit again? Is that not clearly answered on my previous post?
