i think this fight will bomb on ppv's, maybe do 500,000. I think these oil kings in dubai dont know jack about boxing and they will be really surprised when this fight doesn't do as well as expected. Notice how Top Rank keeps saying that they wont have to take any risks, because theyre being payed up front. Basically Arum is selling them a bunch of bull and is going to run off with their money.

If this is all true, what good will 'boycotting' the fight do?

The rumor is the Royal family of the UAE is offering Arum $30 million for the site fee, meaning Pacquiao might get $15-20 million GUARANTEED, tax free. So the fighters will be happy, the promoters will be compensated. If the fight does bomb, and it won't, it's not like the royal family is hurting for money and they'll have the Grand Prix the next day. If HBO is involved, the 24/7 will EASILY be the most entertaining yet- Pacquiao starting his congressional duties, training in Manila, Margarito being the 'villain' and fighting for redemption, a new exotic setting and not the usual stale Vegas landscape. That=money in the bank. They could even get creative and sign endorsement deals with Fly Emirate and use Pacquiao as a spokesperson and maybe offer a sweepstakes where fans get all expenses paid trips to Abu Dhabi to see the fight, that would bolster tourism.

Everyone is a winner in this scenario. Arum would be a fool to turn this offer down in favor of Mexico.

this fight isn't gonna do well ppv wise because of margarito's cheating, so pac might as well snatch up that big guaranteed purse and arum should let the the Abu Dhabi people take all the risk and liability.

if the crowd is small you can't just chalk it up to the fact that Abu Dhabi isn't a big fight town.

if the ppv numbers are low you can blame it on margarito. I'm almost sure it will do as good if not a little better than the clottey fight.
