It was his first fight at welterweight, that's why.. And he looked better than "ok".

The guy is a B+ fighter with no following and he suddenly deserves a shot at the #1PFP fighter in the world LOL!

Yeah I think he's being overhyped just a bit.

so what if that is his first fight at ww, he was still expected to look better than that, and it is kind of funny you said that. Are you saying that his second fight at ww against "pacman" going to be better? lol or are you going to say ''it was his SECOND fight at welterweight, that's why''...

I wouldn't ever say that, because his second fight at WW, won't be against Pacquiao.

Will you be able to say he's improved if he doesn't KO Kotelnik? I don't think so. Anything less than a KO will not impress me because unlike Khan at that point, Devon doesn't have a glass jaw and he's never been the type of person to hesitate exchanging or staying close, even if it means taking a punch. However I expect a lopsided UD (however I'd love to see another surprising KO because it'll shut Roach up).

My point is, not everyone will look better in every fight. Especially when you're moving up in weight against the type of fighter you should stay away from. For example, Floyd destroyed his last opponent at 135, but did the chicken dance against his first opponent at 140 lol

sure, but he needed to look spectacular to land the pac fight.

Exactly he looked like a B+ fighter, that doesn't mean a B+ fighter isn't worthy of fighting Pac but when you add the word obscure to the B+ fighter to describe what his fan base is like and the you use B- to describe the fighters he's beaten yeah I don't think he should be on the short list of fighters that should be fighting Pac.

He could have looked like SRR, and not landed the Pac fight... so it doesn't matter.

Sounds like Joshua Clottey to me.
