Manny and Floyd are never fighting so its a mute point, but the difference is Manny moving up the scales starching guys bigger than him even if he is a natural LW, thus proving himself legit comp at WW.

Its clear that this is another thread to convey this message about how the messiah is being crucified but anyway you cut it, JMM was a tuneup and only so because JMM is a great fighter but too small to be effective and any serious threat.

Think whatever you want about what a "great win" it was but he gets no credit from me for it.
Like I said before, Fighters have moved up from 135 to 147 and won big fights before. Marquez was not a natural welterweight but neither is Floyd, You get fights like this all the time where one guy is naturally bigger or smaller. Mayweather was naturally smaller than Castillo, Gatti, Baldomir and De La Hoya and managed to win every time. I dont think the size was a huge factor in Mayweather-Marquez, The styles just match up horribly for Marquez. And he always struggled against pure boxers like Mayweather.

Either way, I don't consider it to be one of Mayweather's best wins but it was a very impressive performence considering the layoff. Mayweather was the bigger fighter but he is usually fighting bigger opponents and wins. Pacquiao of course has proved himself at Welterweight and Marquez hadnt but fighters HAVE moved up to new divisions and won in their first fight. So it's not like Marquez didnt have a chance, Although some people will act like that was the case.

Either way. I'm very curious to see how JMM does in his next fight.

No one said Floyd wasn't skilled or that he doesn't have good wins. It is irrelevant to this particular situation whether other fighters moved up and beat bigger fighters because Floyd is now a natural WW, it as never more clear than in his last fight with SSM when he looked to be the same size as him and this was so last year when he fought JMM who was and is still a small LW.

Floyd's win over JMM to me would be like if Chad Dawson schooled Felix Sturm at 174. As big a supporter I am of his I have to be realistic and acknowledge that the weight classes are there for good reason, to ensure fair competition which is to me what we didn't have in that case, regardless of whether I think the result would be the same if they were the same size.

all weights on fight night are "unofficial"
