I have nothing against MMA, I just don't think it's right to hit a man when he's down. If you think boxing needs a few tweaks, fine. I'm not knocking it, it's your opinion, I understand. My main issue was when you said it was unfair not to be able to attack a downed opponent.
No problem. I understand. But I was showing you a way it is "unfair" in a different manner. Not the manner of the way it is agreed upon by the fighters competing that understand it going into the bout.

You also have to remember something...either way...you are into violence. Not only that, you are into prolonged violence.

You agree with two man hitting each other in the face and body that causes both short-term and long term damage...even life-threatening.

You watch and cheer this on.

I'm well aware of the violence and the consequences boxers face in the sport. It's a career decision they decided to take, and yes I cheer them on, as long as the two combatants are conscious and can square off against each other. I'm not interested in seeing a semi conscious fighter on his knees getting pummeled until he's out cold.

Like I said in the green K sent. I don't agree, but I understand and respect your opinion.

beating someone while they are down isn't skillful tho, in mma there are alot of slips and miss steps, and the other guy jumping on top of him to keep him off balance and defenceless is pretty dishonorable, boxing is too prideful too have something like that implemented, the better fighter wins, and that's it

It would be boxing just not the way we are seeing it know.

              Ancient Boxing

Boxers wore leather strips on their hands for protection, but there was no such protection for their faces.

Greek epigrams claimed boxers became so disfigured even their dogs did not recognise them.

Matches only ended when a competitor was knocked out or gave in and unlike today there were no prohibitions on hitting an opponent when he was down.

How isn't it? you are trying to finish off an opponent.

How is running around the ring after a win, especially by KO, like you won the lottery prideful? I didn't see Joe Louis do that but I do see many do it.

Slips and miss steps are part of the reality in which we live in.

                "To Prideful"? Really?
Same sport where many cheat in one form or another. If it is PED use, illegal shots to the testicles, kidneys, rabbit punches, holding, holding and hitting, and head-butts...

And there have been fights where someone has slipped and you see the person get hit. Maybe Joe Louis was the only guy to take a step back.

Now it will be up to the fighter of course to fight the way he wants to. To take advantage of it or not.
