There's a couple of reasons I know Arum is telling the truth.

#1 - What would Arum gain in lying? Wouldn't he just hurt himself and the negotiations if he made up some story like this?

#2 - It took all this time to say there were no negotiations on Ellerby's part? Why not say something when the supposed deadline was looming?

It sounds to me as if Mayweather has no interest in fighting Pacquaio now or maybe even never. It's really sad because this was the fight the world wanted to see, the fight that would bring back boxing to the mainstream.

What about the relationship between Greenburg & Arum, are they married???

At the time he said this I honestly didn't believe what he said was entirely true. Perhaps I was wrong? 8CountNews has been reporting throughout this whole ordeal that this fight was not, and still is not a done deal. The bottom line is this, someone is lying as it pertains to the negotiations. Arum says that negotiations have been taking place, and the Mayweather side are saying that there has been no negotiations.

Mayweather is a smart guy, and he knows exactly what he is doing. No deadline will speed up the process. Mayweather will sign when it makes sense to. Right now his uncle, and trainer is staring at some jail time. Taxes are another issue, Floyd isn't interested in paying taxes on 40 million dollars in 2010. Most people do believe that this fight will happen, but more than likely not until early 2011.

Arum is now looking at matching up Pacquiao with either Miguel Cotto in a rematch, or with Antonio Margarito. Most people do not feel as if Margarito deserves a shot at Pacquiao, nor does he deserve to fight period. Neither Cotto, or Margarito really excite the boxing fans. A Cotto rematch will probably just be a replay of the first beat down.

Mayweather has been shooting hoops with a youth basketball league, and enjoying some down time with his family. He doesn't sweat deadlines. Floyd knows that he is a huge draw, and he knows that Arum needs him.

The fans have been the recipients of all kinds of wack information on this fight. Done deal headlines, fight is on, fight is off, fight is on again, fight is off again etc.... Headlines with no sources, followed by a bunch of back peddling and spinning, and trumped up garbage to make it look as if people really know what is going on, when in truth they are clueless. The whole ordeal has been one big circus act.

The truth is, not many people really know what the hell is going on. Some publications are rolling the dice as if trying to hit the lottery and putting up juicy headlines. These headlines are designed to gravitate boxing fans, primarily Pacquiao fans, to that in particular site. The truth is that most of them have no idea what is going on no matter how hard they try to portray that they do.

As I said before, when you see the press conference and a smiling Bob Arum waiving a Filipino flag and an American flag A.K.A. Dong King style, then we have a fight on our hands. Until you see something like that, don't believe the hype.
The problem here is that Floyd jr's response is like he himself isn't fully aware of what is going on.

Possibly the greatest fight of the decade, definitely BIGGEST money earner fight in a very, very long time.

Fans going crazy waiting at the sidelines wanting to know how things are going at the negotiating table or IF there actually any negotiations.

And after all of this, all floyd has to say is he's taking a vacation? AGAIN?

No comments about any problems about the fight stipulations, no comments on the testing, or even the purse sharing.

He just wants to go on a vacation......

Well, if team Floyd can convince enough people that there were no negotiations then they can duck the ducking accusations.

This is a *new press release from Mayweather Promotions, found it on www.*****.org

                  The Mayweather Mission Statement

Let all the other "talented" fighters face each other. I hope that all of them engage each other in tough grueling match-ups, so that with each match, they leave the best pieces of themselves in that ring, never to look the same again and stand further removed their peaks/primes, then I will announce my grand return.

Once I see a weakness, or a crack in the armor, that will be my signal...vacation time will be over. I will hop off the Segway and conduct interviews telling anyone within earshot just how much I missed boxing and came back to face the best, that is of course until the best call my bluff, then it may be time for another vacation.

And when I win, I will tell people that I'm the greatest to ever do it and all my fans will believe it, and shout it from the rafters, heck all my fans already believe that. This is my plan...so far...so good.

                  Sincerely,

                  Mayweather Promotions (The Uno)

I think Mayweather is in total control, and has been from the beginning. He got his demands met, he's the center of attention, the whole fight rest on his decision. All he has to do is say the fights a go, and I bet Arum would drop everything to make the fight. Mayweather has all of us eating out of his hand, which I must say is very impressive.
