What about Football? They take some MASSIVE damage to thier bodies and barely get a month off every year.

Plus Floyd gets hit VERY little in his fights and has very little impact on his vody especially when you compare him to fighters like Pac and Cotto

With immense amounts of padding on them, I am not taking away from one sport... I am saying that ones where you get punched in the face for a living. I am not saying he hasn't brought critism on himself cause im dissapointed too but you can't really compare it to other sports... Boxing is just run much differently.

why else would they ask about pacquiao when he was set to face jmm and mosley? pti beraded floyd with pacquaio questions when he was focused on mosley---that's bs---the same with manny----they talk about floyd when he's fighting clottey---not so much though with cotto last time around---i see why floyd lost interest in thsi fight this year----he gets his name spit on by fans and media who, no matter who he faces, who he dominates find something to complain about---his style, his performance----it's ****---and it's what's wrong with american sports-----if i was floyd, i would move to the uk also---american fans and media crucifies everything when they get tired of it, or don't like it's personality, or hates the way it performs, when they, themselves couldn't pick up a basketball and make a shot or throw a jab to save their lives-----floyd was reemed this past year and last year by the media, and basically while he was retired, 2007, 2006, and 2005------since becoming a ppv fighter, he's been harassed for everything-----it's a shame---he brings entertainment to boxing, and it doesn't matter that you don't like the way he talks, don't take away his victories from him after you give the fighter a huge shot at beating him-----the same thing happended with shane----floyd is laughing at you people who are mad over this i bet----you calling his gayweather and a cowards and ***** bofy floyd and **** like that is making his decision that much signed and sealed, and he doesn't care anymore----he said he fights for checks now----fans eat up these fighters and spit them out like their garbage---it's shame, and the hate floyd recieves and will continue recieving is unbelievable----i don't care too much for his brashness and arrogance, but the only thing that matters to me is how he performs under those bright lights in that ring, and he has done a masterful job and deserves respect for it----

It'd have been cool for a fight to go down in November but if he doesn't want to fight then, that's his business.


He called Mosley out when he was in his prime, it's not actually his fault the fight didn't happen when they were both at their physical peak. Mosley didn't fight Mayweather then because he was high risk low reward.

Yea this is true because Floyd was just a contender at that time and Mosley the #1 P4P fighter.

It is like Khan Devon wanting Floyd right now. And we all know Floyd wont fight them just for the same reason.

Floyd is definitely just fighting for paychecks. He don't need
the money at the moment so there's no reason for him to
fight. Man, I really respect his skills but that move he pulled
cannot be cosigned. Didn't cosign Pac's decision the first time
and definitely not going to cosign Floyd's. At the very end....
it's all up to them. Seems like in Boxing that the fans don't
matter anymore. ESPECIALLY when you have someone as

What I'm curious about is whether he generally wants to take a break for a period of time or whether it is his ego.

If he has a fight around about November time I'll be a little bit vex in all honesty, can't be bothered to get into it but I'll basically think he should have tried to work things out, maybe tweak the date of the fight.

If he takes a lay off for 6 months or so, comes back around January, I'll find it understandable. The older you get the more time in between fights, if you think about it 8 months have passed since Pacquiao's last fights. Promotion, training and the fight. At the highest level you have to mentally step in the ring, if you don't feel that motivation to step in the ring it will show.

Hopefully these guys ''cycle'' sychronize, so they can finally trade leather.

Here's what's interesting to me. When I was watching Leonard-Hagler the other day I realized that Leonard was only 30 and Hagler was 32 and they were both considered at the end of their careers. Ray was coming off a massive layoff. Hagler has shown slippage in the Mugabi fight. Now think about this -- Manny is 31 and Floyd is 33. This fight's shelf life as a meaningful fight is very, very short.

Didn't Floyd Jr. say that he came back to fight the best and beat the best? Well, I don't call beating JMM and Mosley fighting and beating ALL the best out there. Other than Manny, there is still Martinez and P-Will. So, in my mind, if he beats Manny (which is a 50-50 fight in my opinion), then he still needs to fight one of those two guys as well to live up to his own statement...
