After weeks of silence, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has finally given a statement on why he refused to approve a proposal for a Manny Pacquiao fight. Mayweather received a proposal a few weeks ago to fight Pacquiao on November 13. He allowed a July 16 deadline to pass without a response. Pacquiao's promoter, Top Rank, is now lining up either Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto to face Pacquiao on the November date.

Floyd is his OWN man he fight when he is ready to fight, not when everyone else wants him to. He just beat the hell out of Mosley and Maquez. No one said anything about pac man not fighting Marquez or mosley. Look at who they are setting Pacman up to fight next: Cotto who he already beat or Margarito who just come straight forward. No one with boxing skills. The fight will happen when it happends if you think he is scared you dont know boxing it is all hype till they get in the ring. Beside why put a deadline on floyd like he needs them or something?? He knew right then Floyd wouldnt respond to that.

There is two schools of thought here. Two types of fans even amongst those who are fans of the same fighter, lets break this down.

Floyd Fan X: Appreciates all his boxing talents (defense, offense, conditioning, hard work in the gym) and dismisses peoples criticism that he is "boring", fights like a "coward, chicken, *****". Doesn't subscribe to the school of though that he is a complete ducker, only fights past-prime opponents, or smaller opponents etc,. and argues against those with that opinion. Generally ignores or doesn't hold against him, his outside-the-ring antics (money throwing, smack talk etc,.) and doesn't let that influence their opinion of the fighters greatness.


Floyd Fan Y: Is a diehard Flyd fan. Supports him in almost every way possible. Agrees with most of what he says, argues constantly on his behalf on how much more money he deserves, or why he shouldn't fight someone based on PPV numbers etc,. Some even go further and in some ways act or wanna be like him, sporting a nice Mayweather signature and avatar picture.



Pacquiao Fan X: Appreciates him as a fighter. Doesn't think that all his accomplishments are due to HGH/steroid use. Sees improvements in his fight game. Thinks he is a good guy, but isn't making the leap that he is a friggin' saint-like nice guy. But doesn't hold it against him. Might be critical and support the opinion that he should agree to random testing since the other opponent is willing also.

Pacquiao Fan Y: Die hard Pac fan. On average, might be of the same nationality as Pacquiao (I.E. Pinnoy). Defends everyone of his excuses for not wanting random testing. More of often than not, Fan-Y will make a leap and say that he is The GOAT if not Top 10 ATG because of his Multi-Division titles. Never holds Pacquiao at fault for anything, considers him a saint compared to faul mouth Mayweather's. Resorts to racist remarks and poor grammar cheerleading of Pacquiao.



Conclusion: Floyd Fan-X & Pacquiao Fan-X are more likely to agree with each other on a number of issues regarding all of this, than Floyd Fan-Y and Pacquiao Fan-Y's.

now, you've called me on numerous occassions, a floyd lover, aka floyd fan y, i guess, but you know, as well as many others on here, that i know the sport of boxing, like the back of my hand, the same hand i use to bitchslap dummbass in here who post nonsense like you've been posting--lol---just kidding, anyway, you can criticize the content of my posts, that's fine, but i have posted some ill **** about fighting styles, predictions of fights, i know floyd's fighting style---i followed him in the amateurs, just like i follwed roy jones when he first started and when he was screwed in the olympics---but i'm no die hard floyd fan just to be one----i appreciate the fine art of boxing, which is why i comment on fighters like terry norris, floyd patterson, srr, srl, sweet pea, benitez, duran, hell, even victoriana sosa---because i know all of their styles too well----i'm a former fighter, i know this sport---i even predicted that shane wouldn't land over 20% of his total shots on floyd, despite shane being an offensive minded fighter---and the same will happen with manny-------no doubt about it-----floyd landed close to 50% of his shots on shane---i told you what types of shots floyd would hit manny with, and he will, the types of shots he would tag judah and de la hoya with-------i knew roy jones would beat john ruiz because of how overrated ruiz's style was----and roy was a wildcat-----i knew holyfield would dust tyson------i wanted tyson to beat lewis, but i knew if he didn't ko him in round 1 or 2, the fight was in lewis's hands, it was just when he decided to end it------i know this sport, and you really have some nerve dictating what types of fans or fans and floogies-----but you entitled to your opinion i guess right?lol---

Another Floyd fan that just doesnt have an excuse for his current actions and now trys to somehow put blame on Pac for the fight not happening in May 2011.

Dude, this is what I mean by Pac fans thinking he's god. Did you not read that I said Floyd thinks he's bigger than the sport? Did you not read that I said I hope Pac position himself to not give Floyd a leg to stand on during negotiations?

I will guarantee that none Pac fans will ever say that about him. I'm a boxing fan and I see things objectionally, not blindly like Pac fans.

Marquez was ranked #2 p4p, Mosley was ranked #3 p4p and the #1 welterweight. If he adds Pacquiao's name to the list he would have faced top 3 p4p opponents in his last 3 fights.

It's possible that he will fight Pacquiao in March next year. Though I think probably June/July is more realistic as he may take a fight in January/February to stay active.

Be real maing...Marquez only weighed in at 142, and still managed to not get knocked out...he may have been top 5 P4P at the time, but that was based on what he did at 135. Money didn't even make weight, but I guess that doesn't matter to some people. You got Hagler on your Avatar, and your trying to convince people that Floyd has fought the P4P best in his last two fights? Marvin's laughing his ass off in Italian! And Shane...he lost to Cotto at 147, and I believe would've gotten spanked by PWill or Manny. Floyd is his own man and I ain't mad at him for putting this fight off for awhile. Had the fight come off in November, I think Money would've slapped the **** out of Manny. If anything, a fight next year will probably be more competetive due to Floyd's lack of activity. Lets just stop with these justifications. I mean, as an honest man, can you really say that Shane was the number one WW when he fought Floyd? If yes, than you must've thought Baldomir was a P4P beast when Floyd whooped him.

The Mayweather Mission Statement

Let all the other "talented" fighters face each other, hoping that all of them engage each other in tough grueling match-ups, so that with each match, they leave a piece of themselves in that ring, never to look the same again and stand further removed their peaks, once I see a weakness....vacation time will be over and time to pounce.

And when I win, I will tell people that I'm the greatest to ever do it and all my fans will believe it and shout it from the rafters, plan has worked out well so far...

@yevskiy426, it would take pbftxrs316 all day to get a paragraph written in a 'readable' manner. I read some of it and give up and just wait for other posters comments on his rants. He has a right to his opinion, I would like to read and debate with him but it's too much of a hassle...
