I read it ages ago on reeds thread... he also said he doesn't know if it was entirely accurate or something. It seems strange that they would tax the same percentage for 80 million as they would for 370k or whatever it is.

I am just going by what reporters have said too... none of us are tax experts going both ways.

Hold up, how is my criticism of Floyd right now any different to your criticism of Pacquiao during the negotiations, citing that he needs to take 40% for the fight to happen, and agree to random testing. You may say it's legitimate criticism, well so is this one. (Note: In chess terms, Pac made his move and now it was Floyd's turn.)

That would qualify as you turning on him as far as i'm concerned. Doesn't mean you have to hate the guy, I don't hate Floyd.

Cro, from the negotiations standpoint the numbers dictate that Pacquaio should get a smaller percentage of the purse. And my personal morals on the drug testing issue will never change. That said, none of that has anything to do with the current debate. I thought I made myself clear that Mayweather is to blame this time around, if he sticks to his current stance. That said, that doesn't instantly take Pac off the hook for screwing up the fight the last time. I'm not a prisnor of the moment. Therefore, if this is the end of the story and the fight doesn't happen, I'll blame each equally, just like I blame Mayweather AND Cotto for their fight not happening.

floyd HAS earned more than 80million in a year before, so it wouldn't make sense for him to avoid earning that again simply because of taxes

Floyd runs boxing he showing the whole world that he is his own boss and makes his own moves and you can't force him into dong anything he will fight Pacquiao when he wants to fight Pacquiao and you can hate it or love it but when the fight does happen you will buy it

Well im an accounting major and this has to be commen knowledge to us. Like i said in 1951-63 the tax rate was 91% for over 400K. Today its 35% over 365,000 no matter how much more it is

Considering the fight would be in Novemeber he could probably get paid in the next year atleast partially thus getting that income over a two year period, and not like it would even be much of a hassel considering when the fight would take place.

It can be made to work I am pretty sure.

Exactly!!! No way should anyone defend this... I crucified Mosley for going on "Vacation" in 2006 instead of fighting Mayweather at that time...so no way can i defend a man who recently cameback from a 2 years vacation.
