I was a big fan based on his personality, and the agressive fighting style he had leading up to the Bhop fights. He came so close to beating Froch, could have taken a knee in the 12th round and still won on points, and from what I saw was boxing pretty good against AA in the first half of their fight. Does anyone know what the scorecards were heading into the last round of that fight? I would only want him to come back if he had a good trainer that could really get into his head.

Taylor was down 107-102, 106-102, and 105-103. Needed a knockout to win.

After taking a year off (it's already been 9 months), he plans on making a ring return with Pat Burns, who trained him in the olympics and through his first 25 pro fights. And he's been in the gym w/a personal trainer since like February trying to get down and maintain a weight of about 175.

I do, but his retirement was for the best. He can't fight anymore. The man dared to be great, or at least tried to be great, and I enjoyed watching him. But he paid the price physically. He still accomplished more than most fighters ever will though. He can retire and be happy with that. Sucks to see a young guy get cut short, but that's a risk every fighter in his position takes if they fight top comp over and over. Wish him the best.

nobody ever had pavlik and froch down and on shaky legs and he pulled it off

when he comes back he should be focused, he shouldnt go out like michael moorer
i usually agree with u but here u are way of. taylor was still far from the full package in both hopkins fights, it was just his athletic ability that made up for it. he still made plenty of fundamental mistakes´and his boxing IQ was way low.

and saying hes the only guy who couldve beaten the guys he lost to makes no sense eighter. hopkins destroyed pavlik, and martinez beat him aswell. pavlik can be outboxed by a decent fighter. so can abraham who was taken to school by dirrell and ward would do the same. froch will get KOd by abraham, would get outboxed and TKOd in a rematch with dirrell, would get KOd by bute and shut out by ward.

There is a time to retire and its his time to retire, i dont want to see him end up like G Man, Ali, Micheal Watson, If he want to continue he can work on being a trainer or in promotions, but he should hang up his gloves. When a guy has suffered multiple KO's in a row he should retire.
