let me see... if the guy fought p4p fighters one after another, if the guy beat undefeated champions and make then look like amateurs, if the guy humiliates and win 12 rounds of 12 against JMM, mmmmmm......well that "0" dont look bad

is better than 3 loses and 2 draws against old figthers past his prime or guys like torrecampo

The 0 is ultimately pointless in a historical sense. Are any of the fighters that retired undefeated considered among the top 10 or 20 all time, let alone considered the best?

Usually having a 0 means you haven't fought the type of competition that can beat you. Guys like Floyd are the exception to that rule but anyone who dares to be great loses at some point. If Floyd keeps fighting and those fights are against guys who are legit threats, he will lose at some point.

it's not hard to keep a zero when you go to a long vacation as soon as a credible threat appears. floyd was scared like **** to fight guys like cotto, margarito. now that pac disposed of them both they are loosers not worthy of a fight.

If you think having an 0 means you are great then you dont know much about boxing, if you also think having an 0 means that person hasn't fought any competition then you're either a no-boxing fan, ******ed or just plain hating..

You can have a 0 and be a great fighter, obviously you cant fight everyone but if you fought every style known in boxing against top ranked fighter then that's good enough for me..

But having an 0 doesn't mean you are great neither.

Fighting great fighters, being in great fights, overcoming adversity, having incredible talent and desire, fighting the best out there.....these are some of the things that make a great fighter. Being undefeated is great for a fighters confidence but doesnt mean greatness unless its tied to most of the things mentioned above.

I know this thread is a knock on Floyd and was made to wind up the band of raging ***** ****'s that spam this board on a daily basis, and you are right, they are ****s, but Floyd IS a great fighter.

What makes a great champion is how you deal with a loss and comeback from it imo. That tests you more than anything and if you can pass the test then you will be a better fighter because of it.

Undefeated records don't impress me, they just raise questions about the calibre of your opponents.
