Going for the LINEAL belt is NOT the most dangerous path, because it doesn't attract the best fighters. And I used the golf analogy to explain why.
The best fighters in each division are the most dangerous fighters, and if there isn't any REAL incentives to go for that belt OVER the other belts, you will have the best fighters going for the money fights, while mediocre opponents have more chance at owning the lineal belt, which would = not the most dangerous path.
Now, a way to attract the best fighters to obtain the lineal belt is having a governing body give fighters extra money if they win that belt, because there's real incentive. But it's unlikely that it will happen.Comment

how do you know how much boxing knowledge a certain individual has based on a 30 minute show where they talk about mainstream sports (which boxing isnt) & they dont have control of the production & content?

Little about Pac? OK
When they interviewing Floyd. And, Floyd is their trying to promote his fight with Shane.
And, all Wilbon and Dan are asking is about Pac. Doesn't sound to me like "all they care about is Mayweather and a little about Pacman"
And, that actually sounds to me like they care about a lot of the Pacman...
But, hey that is just me.
and like I said when Manny was on promoting the Clottey fight they only wanted to talk about Mayweather and a possible fight with Mayweather, Mayweather is American...of course he is going to get more coverage, not only that but ESPN loves controversy and they know when Mayweather comes on he is going to be very controversialComment

This is what I've been trying to say the whole time, man:
Going for the LINEAL belt is NOT the most dangerous path, because it doesn't attract the best fighters. And I used the golf analogy to explain why.
The best fighters in each division are the most dangerous fighters, and if there isn't any REAL incentives to go for that belt OVER the other belts, you will have the best fighters going for the money fights, while mediocre opponents have more chance at owning the lineal belt, which would = not the most dangerous path.

The majority of mediocre fighters who become champs hold one of the 4 major belts but not the lineal title...
Being a division title holder is easier than being the lineal champ.
Again just cuz you're the lineal champ doesn't mean that you're the best or the most dangerous fighter ala Baldomir. But, the more likely than not it does mean you the best.
Winning the lineal title is harder than being a division title holder...
Think about it like this... How many fighters have won 3 divisions title and more. Now compare that to how many have won 3 lineal division championships and more... And, tell me which list has the greater fighters.Comment

Is not just Mayweather and a "little about Pac"
Is Floyd and Pac together.
No "little about Pac"Comment

who in the hell ever questioned their knowledge??? All I am saying is that they (ESPN) don't give a **** about boxing all they care about is 2 fighters in boxing, other then Mayweather or Pacman they could careless, so why all of a sudden just because they said something you and other Mayweather haters love hearing, why are people all of sudden trying to give them all this "Credibility"Comment
