Think about it like this... How many fighters have won 3 divisions title and more. Now compare that to how many have won 3 lineal division championships and more... And, tell me which list has the greater fighters.

That's statistics. There are 5 other belts to 1 lineal belt. You can say, "how many guys have won the WBC belt in 3 divisions" and the list would be pretty impressive also.

Take a situation like Mosley/Cotto/Margarito. They did a triangle beat down, because their styles made the fights. Mosley just happened to be the last guy fighting in the chain. I don't believe he was the best fighter at 147 when he beat Margarito. There was still Clottey and Cotto again and Paul Williams and Mayweather. And then Shane still held that belt when Pac came up and beat Cotto and Clottey. You can't really blame Pac or any fighter who choose not to fight Shane because of his lack of draw. I don't call that ducking. Now when Pac/Floyd broke down, Mosley was still scheduled to fight Berto, so Pac fought Clottey.

So you can see there that some fighters lack the opportunity to ever get a shot with the lineal title holder (because of business reasons, time reasons, age reasons), and sometimes the lineal title holder isn't worthy, so that makes the concept flawed, and makes the title on the same level as the other belts.

I have always gave example on why the ring is flawed... You and anybody else can take it how they wanted... I am not knocking anybody but when I explain how calling the ring champ lineal is flawed and you still with the whole bible of boxing bull****. Then I am going to have my opinion of you.

No OST is fair? Yea it is. It was fair for the rest of his 40 opponents why wouldn't it be fair for Pac? you need to read some of the posts in this thread.


they immediately marginalize the boxing knowledge of the people on the show because the show which covers mainstream sports & topics, & is 30 minutes long, is not a hardcore boxing show.

I'm glad somebody gets it. To say those guys are casual fans and don't know **** about boxing is ridiculous. People fail to realize that they have to talk about the topics that are hot at the moment and unfortunately boxing is not one of them. The casual fans want to here about the world cup, Lebron going to the heat, Tiger Woods and other popular topics. It's comical to think that they are gonna chose to talk about the super 6, and fights like Williams vs Martinez and Mosley vs Mora over the more popular stories of the day.

Again it's called catering to your audience and people act like wilbon and those guys come up with these topics themselves. ESPN gives them the topics that should be discussed, they do the research, and then talk about them on their shows. So if the guys at ESPN, that are behind the scenes, feel boxing isn't the topic people want to hear.....then guys like Wilbon and others won't discuss them.
