I don't know. However, we said the same thing the first time negotiations failed. "He's gonna fight a bum!" "He's definitely not going near Mosley!" Floyd may surprise us like he did then. But my guess would be that he takes the rest of the year off if he doesn't get Pacquiao.
Imagine that...less of a surprise is what's in bold and underlined--I kid of course.

So Pac's options are to fight, which is his craft/job, you know a guy who wears gloves and punches people for a living and is criticized for his next opponent choices, while the other guy wants to go on another vacation and his fans form a circle jerk, must be an alternate reality.

Well he's always been given a pass for fighting leftovers but Cotto/Margarito takes the cake. The PPV is gonna flop - not flop like 100,000 but flop on some, "you're definitely taking 35-40% now." No doubt about it. Why would Pac do that? If it comes down to testing and cutoffs again, he's going to look horrible.

He can always defend his 140 lb title.

those same names you mentioned are fair game for floyd too... so why arent those fights being made? from what i remember, they all mentioned floyds name as well... so if floyd/pac dont work out, he should campaign for his next fight ASAP. taking a break is BS... floyd is in great shape, shane didnt come to win anyway (disappointing for his fans)... so floyd is STILL fresh for his next fight.

We'll see what Floyd does. Maybe he takes a vacation, maybe he doesn't. I'm not gonna knock a man for doing that (who does? Oh, wait). But I like to test the water before declaring it's too cold.

so does that make it right???? manny gets crucified for saying "f**k off, dont make accusations".... but floyd gets a free pass?

fair game, both need to be called out on their pride.

agree. there are PLENTY of intriguing matchups possible.
