For some reason I find that fight very interesting. Even tho I don't see it making great numbers on PPV.

      Berto?
Floyd has until friday the 16th until Paq and his camp basically get fed up with Floyds indecision and decide to make their next decision. Next week Paq's camp will announce that they have a new opponent for Nov 13th, and a deal will be reached and signed quickly by both parties. The week after that Floyd will announce that he has decided to sign the deal that was on the table to fight Paq, despite the fact that Paq will already have agreed to fight someone else. Then Floyd and his more ignorant fans will accuse Paq of ducking Floyd, and in their eyes this will be the gospel truth. Claiming "Paq ducked me, and im ready to fight someone", Floyd will fight some second rate fighter, im thinking along the lines of Miguel Cotto's brother who really belongs at 140, Matthew Hatton, but definitely will not face a top fighter.

true but the fight was no catchweight. if floyd does fight martinez it has to be at 160. If not thats pu$$y. I hate it when the champ has to come down in weight.

Floyd wouldnt make Martinez fight him at a catchweight, Of course the other guy is bigger but it is what it is. Floyd fought everyone at the official weight classes so he's not going to just demand a catchweight all of a sudden now. Mayweather doesnt need to drain the opponent's like Pacquiao, He wins under any circumstances.

From what I've read, martinez would fight at 155. Iif its non title than fine. But the 160 lb title should be defended at 160 lbs. Floyd is my boy but if he makes him come down its straight pu$$y in my book.

The only reason Floyd fought Shane is because Shanes opponent had to drop out of the fight, Floyd was in the middle of looking for an opponent, and Shane was suddenly standing in front of Floyd and there was no way around him. If you read my posts and threads I have started, you will realize that I never call into question Floyds talent or abilities, mainly just his choice of opponents. If it hadnt been for Berto pulling out against Shane, Floyd would have fought a total chump. Again, read my posts, despite being a Paq fan I am picking Floyd to win a good fight if it actually happens, but dont think that Floyd will decide the reward is worth the risk.

I can't remember any fighters of this era who won titles from 130 to 160. If Floyd did it, and picked up his 6th WBC belt along the way. That would be a big deal and a big fight.
I actually think that a Mayweather v Martinez fight could potentially have more staying power/meaning when it comes to Floyd overall legacy. Say Floyd get in the ring with Pac and makes him look like a fool. Folks would give floyd props for 3 to 4 days then.....same ole same. Floyd becoming the Middleweight champ is an accomplishment that couldn't be diminished.

O, and Floyd has spoken negatively about catch weight title fights so I highly doubt that'll happen.

I agree, I don't like catchweights and I don't think that it's right to "win" titles at catchweights because it's an unfair advantage. I believe that if you want to win the 160lb belt then you have to fight at 160lbs because that's the limit for the weight class. I have no doubt's that Floyd would let Martinez come in at 160, Like I said before if you have gone up and won belts at the official weight classes your whole career then why change now? I just don't think Floyd would do that.

I agree, But Floyd has done this his whole career. He won the WBC belts from 130, 135, 140, 147 and 154 and people still make excuses. Having said that if a natural 130lb guy went and won the Middleweight title then it would be big because I dont remember many other people doing it. Other than Oscar De La Hoya and we all know that he really lost to Felix Sturm. He got the decision but he really didnt deserve it.

If Floyd moved up and dominated Martinez, It would be a big accomplishment but like I said before. People always make excuses, They say "fight Pacquiao" but if he beats him people will say "Floyd was the bigger man" so then if he fights Martinez they will say "He's 35 years old". There's always excuses, But to win 6 WBC belts (which is the most well regarded belt) in 6 different weight classes would be something special because it's never been done before.
