Put Donaire in against any southpaw under 122, especially one that's slower than him, and I got Nonito. He has a great set of tools to work them over, the best being his left hook over the jab and straight right to the body and head.

Montiel-Donaire to me is a tossup right now, but what Nonito doesn't like are fighters like Yonny Perez.

lol, Hozumi isn't slower than him. Equal at the least. Slower than? No way.

i think donaire is able and has the skill set to ko hasegawa. i think hasegawa is a awesome boxer but his chin has been detonated and donaire has natural power to ko or really hurt a guy. when he fights in his orthodox position he's a fighter he can flow and doesn't think about what he's throwing because it's ingrained in his memory.

this last fight we saw him in switching to southpaw, he had no real fluidity like he does from the other side, and he forces/forced a lot of his punches which isnt result producing like his orthodox stance.

hasegawa was handling his business against montiel until he got hit with a left hook shot he rightfully didn't see, at least if memory serves correct, and if donaire hits him with one of his, hasegawa is going to find him self at the least stunned, and donaire has combos to close the show.

i think hasegawa has good feet, good combos and punch selection, he from what i've seen of him has always been in good fighting condition, he's a professional, i just think donaire can stop him.

good fight, i'd love to see it, as would i like to see a number of other fights that both guys should also be in.

Donaire is faster than him, feet, hands, and reflexes. And nobody's faster than Donaire at 118 either.

This has yet to be seen. Donaire never fought anyone his size with decent speed, which by default makes Donaire look quick by comparison.

I actually see Donaire beating Montiel, but losing to Hasegawa.

agree. nonito is slick, fast, athletic & has great reflexes. if his chin holds up at 118 he beats anybody.

Exactly. That's why I don't agree with the statement that Donaire is faster than Hozumi.

Specially not in every damn category. Nonito hasn't even fought an opponent who can match him in skill. Darchy comes close but only in power, everything else Darchy falls way short of Nonito. And Darchy is the second best flyweight, what does that mean about the rest of the field?

I'm not comparing him to his opponents. I'm looking at his individual hand speed, foot speed, and reflexes and if you put him side by side with Hasegawa it's visible to the naked eye.

The only thing I should've said to go along with it is "if the extra pounds don't make him slower", which I doubt.
