  • Team Mayweather sent the initial proposal. Arum completely changed it and then sent it back with a deadline.

    Let's see what happens next.

Top Rank and Golden Boy may agree but Floyd is the last say.
Hopefully he is just taking his time making them sweat and the
      fight gets made.
      hopefully......

      • In the end, anyone who is playing the blame game is doing it without any justification, becuase regardless of what Arum has said, non of us outside of the negotiation table really know how this has gone down.

        • All I know is this; If this fight gets pushed back to next year, then Pac better find a dance partner that will do better then 1 million ppv buys, or else he will be in an even worse position when he returns to the negotiations.

& I don't think Cotto is gonna cut it anymore, because i doubt hardcore cotto fans will want to watch Cotto get slaughtered again.`

Not doubting you, but you can you provide the source to backup that assertion?

Mayweather is being represented in negotiations by Golden Boy, this much we know. Golden Boy--meaning both Schaefer and the company figurehead, have both spoken on the record to Dan Raf and have stated that all terms were agreed upon.

They are advocates for Floyd, so one must assume that his demands were met, meaning all roads to lead his decision...if that is the case and he walks, will his fans still support that decision?

He knew what Roger's situation might entail, so why enter into negotiations in the first place, if there was the slightest chance he'd walk away now, makes absolutely no sense to a logical person, yet somehow in Floyd's world it manages to make perfect sense.

            • If even Mr. Fitzsimmons has doubts...

Wow, this article was quite a surprise. How could I possibly imagine Mr. Fitzsimmons having doubts about his "Uber" hero, Floyd Mayweather Jr. ? I mean, I thought this journalist held a devotion to Floyd but I'm glad to see that even he begins to have little doubts. Well, maybe not doubts but at least trying to encourage his hero to make the right choice.

Good for you Mr. Fitzsimmons! Honestly, I have no idea if Floyd is really the one who's making these negociations so difficult, in fact none of us know for sure but what is certain, is that at the end of it all, if this fight doesn't happen, the one (or the ones) responsible for the failure will have to take responsibility and be ostracized big time!

Like Mr. Fitzsimmons, I just hope we won't have to go there...

                  • Again, I'm not trying to put blame on anyone, because as i said we really don't know what's going on behind closed doors, but If Pac and his team really wanted to make the fight happen with all the stipulations they have requested, they could have signed it for March.

                    • geezus, sometimes this forum is like a bunch of old ladies gossippin and arguing.

                      Heres all we know:

arum claims that everything has been agreed upon and they are just waiting for floyd to sign.

Floyds side has said nothing, except a few weeks ago floyd said he was gonna take a year or two off.

so we can draw our own opinions from that, but in the end we are just assuming things and KNOW NOTHING
