That's because Mitchell didn't want to fight Hatton.

Mitchell knew that Hatton would beat him, and Mitchell was Tszyu mandatory... Tszyu was not allowed to fight anyone else but Mitchell or he'd be stripped in his next fight coming off his injury.

I guess Mitchell wanted to fight Tszyu and didn't want Hatton to throw a spanner in the works.

This is clearly a BARK no BITE situation.Plain and simple he is waiting for other things to happen to get easier fights in the future. Maybe it isnt him its his management but this guy by the way he talks should be fighting Margarito or Mosley already.

Maybe you missed my earlier post, but Mosley (by his own admission) isn't ready to fight Judah, and said he wants one or two more fights before taking a top fight at 147.

Margarito would be a good opponent for Zab, but I see no way to blame Zab for the fight not happening.

Margarito is with Arum, Zab is with King. It takes two to make a fight happen, and it's just as much up to Margarito to make the fight happen.

That's the KEY, gentleman. Fighters don't control who they fight, their promoters do, and also which "network" they're signed to. Zab is with DKP, nuff said! When was the last time Don King promoted a meaningful fight?

Zab is definitely going backwards, a W vs. Mitchell does nothing to his rep or cred, he'd be better off fighting another mandatory while waiting for the big fish, becuase after Mitchell another mandatory will be due and we'll have to wait another 6-8 months for Zab to fight a quality opponent, so it looks like we won't see Zab in a real "fight" for about a year

Did you not read what I posted? Mosley would then likely be the mandatory. He'd be the "next available contender" in IBF b/c #1 and #2 are Not Rated. Mosley is #3. He'd be the mandatory.

And you idiots. Mitchell is the next best thing! Come on, I've yet to see anybody name someone better than Mitchell if Mosley and Margarito are unavailable. Nobody. And Margarito is questionable anyhow. I personally think Mitchell is as good as Margarito. **** records, styles make fights. Margarito is ready made for Mosley or Judah. And I wouldn't at all be surprised if Mitchell beat him. Not saying I think he would, but I'd give him a better chance than others would.
