The simple fact is that the gulf between them now in terms of weight and fighting ability is just too wide to ever reach an equitable compromise. A trilogy is destined to remain a dream for Marquez.

@Cyberthugpatrol... How is it when a fighter gets knocked down FOUR times in two fights schooling the opposing fighter? By that logic, Michael Moorer schooled Evander Holyfield in their rematch because Holyfield put him down FIVE times in that fight. Both Pacquiao vs. Marquez fights were nip and tuck battles, where either fight could have went either way. I believe Pacman won the first fight 114-112 and Pacman won the second fight 114-113 but I do not argue with anyone who disagrees because they were both very close fights. But saying JMM schooled Pacman twice is not very accurate description...

Marquez lost on the scorecards in BOTH fights

Pacquiao knocked him down 4 times in both fights

He knocked pacman down ZERO times

            He drinks his own piss

All this happend at his prime weight class, Pacquiao is a welterweight now and aint going back to 130

How can anyone possibly want this fight? Are yall drinking piss too?

Whoever won that in anybody's opinion is debatable. But Pacquiao did more damage and should've gotten a 10-7 round in the third if you want to be totally pro-Pacquiao about it. And if you wanna be totally pro-JMM about the fight you score the eigth round 10-8 for JMM which I didn't do.

As much as I talk **** about Pacquiao's match making, it doesn't hold a candle to the ******ity of JMM's match making. I like JMM better than Barrera, but what's gonna happen if Barrera ends up beating Soto for a fourth title? Why didn't JMM just fight Khan when he had the chance? JMM looks like he's not gonna fight Katsidis, so let's not act like Beristain isn't careful with his match making.
Pro-Pac or not, no one could have given him a 10-7 round because it was a Marquez round up until that point, which was the last twenty seconds of the round.

Anyway, I can't believe anyone could ever ***** about Marquez.

He is everything that is still great about boxing. Willing to take on anyone at all, no matter how big the odds, is an absolute warrior of the highest cast and has arguably never lost a fight apart from Mayweather.

Do you think Pac would have taken the Mayweather fight right after the Diaz fight? I don't think so. Right now, who cares who he is looking at for opponents. He's had a long, brutal career fighting the very best of the best and is really quite old now. I think he deserves a lot more respect than some ****ers round here are giving him.

He's had an up and down career full of bad management decisions and yet always come out fighting like his life depended on it and given all of us fans some of the greatest wars in modern boxing. What the hell is not to like? Unless you're a rabid Pac-fan only and hate him because Pac couldn't beat him. That's just sad though and shows what a dullard **** you must be.

If you like the way Pac fights and his heart and warrior attitude, then why wouldn't you like Marquez? Just because Pac couldn't beat him is not a reason.

Edit: Oh, and on the topic, it wouldn't be good for Marquez to fight Pac anymore. He is well past his prime now...and was past his best even in the rematch, while Pac is still at his fighting peak. Marquez needs one or two big money fights after Diaz, maybe even try for a fourth title in his fourth division but he is 37 and has slowed down too much to beat Pac who is still only just past 30 and fighting at his peak still.

just because floyd dominated jmm doesnt mean manny could. styles make fights, and pacquiao has yet to decively beat jmm, he lost the rematch in my view. id ratha watch marquez-pacquiao 3 then pacquiao-cotto 2 at 151 pounds, that fight is worthless, cotto got dominated the first time, he didnt earn a rematch, only reason that lame fight will happen is bob arum.

very good points . and one of the judges in the first fight scored a round 10 - 7 instead of 10-6 which would of gave manilla ice a clear victory .

Pacquiao ducked Marquez two years ago. He could have had it at 135 for all the marbles and the undisputed championship, but he ran away since he thought marquez was old before he took the rematch.
