32% of the board apparently enjoys living in pure ignorance.
If anyone is going to start running their mouth about how skills is different than winning, I have 2 responses.
1. Skill is different than technique... what Vazquez and Marquez did to each other in their first three fights was skill, regardless if they didn't have perfect technique. Castillo's jab to the body to get on the inside takes incredible amounts of skill. Skill doesn't mean just laying on the outside and outboxing your opponent.
2. Have any of you ever seen Judah try to finish someone when they are hurt? The phrase "winging punches" can't even begin to describe what it looks like when he tries to get someone out of there. It's pathetic.
It's Pacquiao, and honestly, anyone who says otherwise is frankly an idiot.Comment

As soon as I can green you again Jro, I will. This is a grade A post, and reflects on why you are revered as a top notch poster. Pure facts. I love it bruh.Ahh... Yes I see what you're saying... And, you right people like to generalize and stereotype of a warrior of having heart.
That is why I gave to examples of come forward fighters in Corrales/Freitas one had heart the other one didn't. Just cuz you comeforward doesn't mean you have heart I agree.
And, just cuz you're a defensive fighter doesn't mean you don't have heart or not tough.
IMO Whitaker best defensive fighter in my lifetime had heart and was tough.
I don't care how defensive minded or safety first reputation Floyd has. IMO that dude is tough and has heart.
I seen him punch Carlos Hernandez in the face, break his hand, go down from the pain. And, then continue to use that hand and whoop ass. I have seen him get hit against Emmanuel Augustus/Burton get hit more than any other fighter. And, not only get hit but to be leaking, and whoop ass. IMO no matter how offensive minded he is or how safety first he is dude has heart and when push comes to shove he is a tough dude.
I look at like this too. How many times did Gatti, Floyd, Roy,messed up their hands. And, after the fight made nothing of it? But, then you have Clottey after the Margarito fight raising up his hand and yelling "my hand, my hand" Or you have Cintron after the Jesse Feliciano fight rolling around in the ring crying about his hand like a baby... But, yet Gatti, Floyd, Roy and many more ****** it up toughen it out and went on like nothing... Is toughness, is heart... you either have it or you don't.Comment

How is it irrelavant, when it takes skill to be able to throw punches from different angles? When do you Zab throw hooks, he hardly doesnt, especially in this day and time.I don't particularly agree with the bolded. It's not the variety of punches(as Zab could throw every punch in the book "effectively"), it is more so the volume of the punches that separate the two. Pac has a greater punch output than Judah, not a greater variety. Unless you want to count the Clottey "double" punch that Pac has in his arsenal.
The bolded is irrelevant to the thread.Comment

i agree with everything u said, except zab had skill technique is something he was lacking imo. it stems from being trained by a father who had not background in boxing.32% of the board apparently enjoys living in pure ignorance.

Skills - Proficiency, facility, or dexterity that is acquired or developed through training or experience.
Proficiency - pac has more sense to stay focused, get a guy outta there when need be etc unlike zab, so he takes this easy
Facility - i never seen judah throw a 20 punch combo, pac throws them ****s fluid as can be, and straight punches nontheless
Dexterity - same as above^ double-triple straight left to set up a right hook is no jokeComment

Dempsey, we're discussing skill set. The other two that I bolded have nothing to do with the arguement at hand.skill means nothing if u dnt have the discipline to make it all work together. judah has more skill, def. but pac is the better fighter, hes great at what he does. judah is great at what he does for the first half of the fight, and even then its only when he's actually focused.Comment

What skill did he have if he was lacking technique? I mean... he threw his punches straight for the most part, until he got someone hurt, and wanted to make it easy for them to survive the round.
He had handspeed... that is literally it.Comment
