As far as the heavyweight division is concerned, I believe this would be the most plausible solution for HBO to consider. If they believe that the heavyweight division just doesn't garner enough interest from the general public here in the US, then they should pick and choose heavyweight bouts that would be good/exciting. This way they can pique the US audience's interest back into the division without having to worry about boring fights.

Clueless European poster #2615394. Unlike European fans, American fans don't like watching boring fights simply because the said fighter is of the same nationality. We don't sacrifice our quality that way.
Pacquiao is from where? Who cares. He's a megastar here because he gives the people what they want.
Amercians want exciting fights, and the Klitschko's just don't bring what the public wants to see. Sorry!Comment

It's too bad about Vitali though. He is somewhat entertaining but to be honest, the only time that I have gone out of my way to watch him was against Kirk Johnson.Clueless European poster #2615394. I like boxing in any shape or form, and bought the Klitschko-Sosnowski PPV, but at this point all their fights are doing is hurting boxings reputation in America even more.
HBO really embarrassed itself by showing the Klitschko/Johnson fight. The Chambers and Sosnowski fights were more of the same. There were guys at work making fun of Vitali after the Arreola fight, because they couldn't understand why the bigger, stronger guy was running around the ring all night when he could have ****** it out with Chris and ended the fight in three rounds.
Sure Vitali played it safe and won, but that's the opposite of what American fans want to see. Sorry. If they're going to play it safe, they're going to stay off HBO. It is what it is.
above x 2. Yeah Dirrell, Ward, Hopkins, Dawson, Floyd etc. I'm not knocking them but you acting like American fans are Boxing connoisseurs who are above rooting for their own and acting like top American fighters are the embodiment of excitement.........well it just shows that emo, scene queens such as yourself should stick to debating hair gels and whether the jeans you share with your girlfriend look better on you or her.Clueless European poster #2615394.
