The problem with the heavyweight division is not the lack of talent but, the lack of good matchmaking and fighter activity. Not in all cases, but more often than not, the best fighters are not fighting each other. Case in point:

David Haye vs Audley Harrison, need I say more?

    Ruslan Chagaev vs Kali Meehan

    David Tua vs Monte Barrett

    Vitali Klitschko vs Al Sosnowski

Denis Boytsov vs the bum of the month

Alexander Dimitrenko vs ___________ (no one)

Sam Peter vs bum of the month

Shannon Briggs vs bum of the week...

Oh yeah, and what about Odlanier Solis? The guy fought and beat a B-C level Carl Drummond and now he seems to think he can take the rest of the year off. WTF? Why can't any of these promoters/managers get some balls and put their fighters back in the ring instead of waiting, for months on end, on the sidelines for a title eliminator or title shot?

Who else is riding the sidelines waiting? Sam Peter, Ruslan Chagaev, Ray Austin et al?...

Eddie Chambers was recognized as the best American HW contender. If American athletes all want to play football or fruit it up in UFC that's their business.

America is not the center of the world. The Klitschko's always fight guys in the top 10-20 and make millions and millions in Europe. If America wants the belts back then America needs to step up and come with a guy bad enough to claim the Heavyweight Championship of the world. Otherwise, all the attention is staying across the pond.

I'd just like a bit of battling between the contenders before and after they get their asses whooped by the Klit bro's. They might not be the best batch of HW contenders ever but against each other they could make some competitive and entertaining match-ups.

Exactly, im not saying anyone can beat wlad, but come on, provide us with a storyline at least. Get people excited. Who cares if its a merciless beating 99% of the time the buildup to a championship fight is better than the fight. Offer people an invitation to a tourney, it seems like 5 people a day call out Wlad, say put up or shutup. if you started January 1, 2011, had lets just say 8 man, single eliminator. First round in January, 2nd round in May and 3rd round in September and Wlad could be fightying a Hype fighter, coming off of a winning streak by next December or january. Seriously I dont care if the 8 guys would be Holyfield, Tua, Toney, Sultan, Arreola, Fury, Harrison and Briggs. Just so long as none are named John Ruiz. No one cares who. And for all the people saying U.S. isnt the center of the world...entertainment wise it is. And if the Klitschko's didnt care about the U.S. why do they spend pretty much half their time here?

Cosolidate the titles & have contenders fight each other more often instead of a couple jm fights & then a title shot(think kingpin...he beat devan Vargas).in the 90's a guy had to beat several top contenders before he was in the mix...unless don king was the promoter.

What this guy says. If you don't like it, tough luck.

And this too, HW contenders are busier ducking each other to cash out against the Klitschkos than actually earning a title shot (except some rare cases like Eddie Chambers and Adamek, Povetkin in the past too but he seems to have gone the bum route now).

It would certainly help if HBO and Showtime would televise HW championship fights. That and promoters push for more top contenders to fight each other.

All the best guys need to fight. I wanna see Vitali/Tyson Fury/Valuev go at it, in any combination. I wanna see Haye vs Vlad. I wanna see Chad Dawson fight the winner of Haye/Vlad.
