I agree. To me, Pacquiao was just too good. He is simply on another level than Clottey and it showed. Clottey has checked out (mentally) in fights he could've won, what did anyone expect from him in a fight where he didn't stand a chance? Against a fighter who held a large advantage in cojones? Could Clottey have done more? Probably. But it wouldn't have changed much.

I don't give a **** what Clottey said, his excuses were a joke.
Clottey also said this.....
1.) I don't know how to explain
2.) I really don't understand what happened to me in that fight
3.) I just think it was one of those things
4.) I knew I could hurt him when I threw my power shots
5.) I didn't feel like his punches really hurt me
Comment number 5, pretty much destroys the "I was getting counter-punched" bull****.
I know what I saw.....
1.) Manny is not a counter-puncher
2.) Every time that Clottey started punching, Manny would cover-up, or Manny would back-up..... but he did not counter-punch
3.) If you actually think that is what happened..... watch the fight again and post back the rounds/times when that happened.
Did you actually watch the fight ?Comment

I didn't see it that way at all switch.
The point is, when Clottey threw punches..... Manny either covered-up, or he backed-up. I do not remember seeing Manny counter-punch Clottey in that fight.
Only maybe on the odd occasion when they both fired at the same time..... but he did not use counter-punching as a main tactical approach going into that fight.
Most boxers will fire a return from time-to-time, but since when is Manny a counter-puncher?
Clottey seemingly IGNORED the few core fighting instincts that he possesses..... and I'd like to know why?Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 07-02-2010, 09:11 PM.Comment

Still waitin for those rounds/times when that counter-punching wizard Manny stole Clottey's soul
I would also like you to explain why Clottey was unmarked, and Manny looked like ****
And I would also like you to explain this.....
" I didn't feel like his punches really hurt me "

Yes I read the article T.I., and then I called it bull****.

You probably still won't see that Clottey was overmatched in this fight. Have a good one..Comment

The people who actually believe Clottey threw the fight needs to start using some common sense. Why would someone whose already an underdog and whom most predicted to lose throw the fight? That makes absolutely no sense. If it was the other way around and Pacquiao pulled a Clottey (not throw punches because he's afraid of getting put to sleep) and lost, then that would be a good source of su****ion for throwing the fight.
I for one like reading these conspiracy theories, but let's at least make sure they're somewhat reasonable. Clottey throwing the fight to me is like saying Hatton threw the fight because he threw his chin face first into Pacquiao's left hand.Comment

Maybe Manny didn't really hurt Clottey.. but that doesn't change the fact that he hid in his shell practically the whole fight in fear of being (T)KO'd. He admitted it himself when he stated (before the fight) he wanted to prove roach wrong and he would not be (T)KO'd. He proved it by not letting his guard down (besides throwing a potshot or two).Comment
