This is how I feel too even though Hopkins gets the job done most of the time that way, you just want it to be over after about 7 rds and wish he would just ko whoever he is fighting but know the rest of the fight is going to look like that and go all 12.

      Prime Jones? No

I give him a damned good chance against Prime Bhop though, especially a Bhop who isn't allowed to:
      Headbutt
      Clinch
      Low blow
      Rabbit punch
      Overact

see this is when we are talking about an old hopkins. Since Hopkins fought De La Hoya he takes some rounds off and what not because of his age.

But prime Hopkins had outstanding defense plus a very good offense. He used to throw around 50 punches a round and as the fight went on he got better and better. If you dont believe me watch Hopkins vs Echols 1 & 2, Hopkins vs Mercado 2, Hopkins vs Glen Johnson, Hopkins vs Joe Lipsey and a lot of his fights from about 95-2001.

I have seen the younger Hopkins but we have not seen that guy in along time, the closest we saw to that was against Pavlik and Ornelas but they made it very easy for him to let the hands go.

Pretty much how id see it, but Hopkins did have his moments. When he decided to open up he was very exciting! Just he had a tendency to bore you to death before he did!

So would I. I think bhop would knock him out late. Lacy made joe look very good, just come forward, predictable, etc.

                      haha! Explain yourself!

Did joe have the technical skills of bernard hopkins? The perfectly timed counter shots, the setting up traps, the phenomenal defense, etc etc etc? Hell no! Joe was very good at what he did but he was no where near the boxer hopkins was, skill wise.
