Roy Jones was 39 and a half and a shot fighter like 7 years ago.

Further Joe was coming off his best win of Kessler and much, much closer to his prime than Hopkins at 43 years old or jones at just a tad under 40. So no, the excuse is very valid.

Would YOU favor calzaghe over a prime Jones and a prime Hopkins? didn't think so.
