Personally,if I was Floyd-I would start negotiating with Cotto as well-just to give Manny second thoughts when it comes to his negotiation tactics....watch them get real desperate when they know Manny's only remaining option is a Margarito fight.Humble team Manny and let them come to Floyd.

Of course,as always,Floyd would be blamed for the fight not happening-even though this is what Manny did to Floyd (with Clottey) in the prior negotiations....

In case you haven't been paying attention-it doesn't matter who holds the bargaining chips-Manny is a pain to deal with in negotiations. He gets what he wants exclusively-or there is no fight....just pay attention to the Hatton, Oscar and Cotto fights. At some point all over here on BS these fights were called off numerous times....
I NEVER see these same problems with Floyd's negotiations until now.
Manny wants ALL the advantages (glove size and ring size..as well as weight),yet plays victim like he is the "smaller" man.....he has duped these people. If Cotto EVER takes another fight with Manny for HIS belt-he better demand strict testing as well (he has a claim that his only 2 losses come from possible cheats) and say no catchweight....even then,I doubt the public would be remotely interested in this.

The fact that Cotto is an option to team Pac shows that he doesn't have many options left anymore...besides maybe Margarito.

wow i was not aware of that weight stipulation for the pac/oscar fight..dont know if its true however it does explain why he did not gain any weight for fight night..really surprised me...i agree with everything else you said..too bad it wont go too far...i dont know whats up with this manny guy put it seems like he cant do no wrong and his fans really cant accept anything negative about him..never really saw that with any other fighter. i guess he is the lebron james of boxing..

I don't doubt that Oscar felt he could make the weight, but when the reality set in about not rehydrating on fight night- he had to get IVs to attempt to get fluid in his system....Freddie knew he was 1-over the hill, 2- left hand dominant, but fights in an orthodox stance, 3-was in Freddie's words "gun-shy",4-hadn't been at 147 for 11 years (remember, just 2 fights before the Pac fight,Freddie was training Oscar).

So Pac makes the weight and fights the "bigger" Oscar(even though Manny weighed more than him on fight night),but a few fights later he still needs Cotto to drain down????? It is pathetic...Pacquiao will be known to the hardcore fans of the sport as a guy who has made belt-holders compromise themselves to give him an advantage because of his "play victim" tactics by claiming he is too small, etc etc....Can anyone think about how many "in-prime, undefeated" fighters he has fought....it's been so long I can't even remember one!
