    sergio martinez, dawson, calderon.....

running away from exchanges, putting your hand down, & participating in excruciatingly boring fights IS NOT A SKILL.

OFFENSE IS A SKILL just like DEFENSE IS A SKILL. stop marginalizing the skills of a offensive fighter who knocks people out & puts on a great show vs elite opponents.

Stop trying to get cute with your analysis. Pacquiao is the best southpaw since pernell whitaker.
This is exactly what I'm trying to say. Yes defense is nice and flashy and making your opponents look like amateurs who can't find a target looks great, but offense is a skill too! If fighters were all defense and no offense, then everyone would fight like Kevin Johnson from the Klitschko fight and Clottey from the Pacquiao fight lol and it goes the other way too. If fighters were all offense and no defense, we'd see a lot of Judah-Tszyu chicken dances.

Top 3 IMO are Whitaker Pac and Hagler. And, I have Whitaker as the greatest southpaw ever.

If you just want to talk about skill then really it goes

        Dawson
        Calderon
        Pac

There are really only 2 southpaws that have a case to be more skillful than Pac.

Some you guys act like Pac is really not skilled at all. Technique? Does Martinez have better techniquie then Pac? Hell no but he fights in a different style that makes him seem like he does when he really doesn't. Hasegawa? No is not better skilled. Dirrell? does not have OVERALL better skills then Pac, Alexander? Come on. You guys would consider any guys with flashiness and footwork as skills. But, that is just one part of skills is not overall.
I disagree 200% that Pac is more skilled than Martinez, Dirrell and Bute.

Hell taking out lefties Pac isnt even more skilled than JMM.

I get he has a different style that still doesnt get him "most skilled " brownie points.

I disagreee with you 200%. He is more skilled then Martinez, Dirrell, and Bute,. Overall skills. You just looking at one aspect of skills.

Pac is amazing but i'd agree with you...I'd say skilled is hitting without getting hit....Like how Mayweather is god gifted not just skilled....But pac has a great right hand also so you could argue with that also.....

What attributes would you say consists of a boxers skill set? So I can see where you are coming from?

In the last 50 years of boxing, nobody has accomplished what Manny Pacquaio has. What southpaws would you argue rank higher all time than Manny?

I'm not trying to start mess, just to get that out of the way first.

Please list Pacquiao's skill set. No need for a long explaination, just a simple list of his skill set.

yeah even though i put martinez in my top 5 and left pac out you post made me think about it and they are about the same with pac maybe being a little better, martinez skillset is so overrated he just looks good doing what he does. I strongly disagree with you saying dirrell isnt more skilled than pac, in your opinion can you explain pacs skill set?
