Is it so idiotic to think that being the most valuable player on the best team in the nba is more important hmmmmm...let alone when it matters the most.

Benny Leonard was nearly as good defensively and better offensively. He also fought better comp.

Ricardo Lopez and Eder Jofre could rank right there with him as well. Im sure there are others, but these spring right to mind.

That said...Floyd has an incredible skill set and deserves much credit for it. His skills have never been a question mark in my opinion.

No it's not idiotic to think that. But I think fdotorres is right on this issue. There's a big difference between the NBA finals MVP and regular season MVP. The two aren't remotely comparable, aside from being individual awards. Would you have said Chauncey Billups was the real MVP the year the pistons won it all? Probably not.

Nobody is talking about level of opposition fought. We are judging purely on skill. Benny Leonard was not as good defensively as Floyd. No chance in hell.

          Floyd's Skills >>>>>>>>>>>> Benny Leonard's

Impossible for you to say this when Leonard fought better fighters.

It's kind of funny Stoney, but you seem to take exception to any ***ish fighter being considered "great", and you do this with little actual knowledge of them or their comp. With all due respect, the Barney Ross debate we had in the history section is a perfect example.

Now hold on here lad. That is a proposterous accusation. WTF does them being ***ish have to do with anything???

I judge based on the fights I have seen. I have seen many Floyd fights and all the Leonard fights possible. I came to my own conclusions. Floyd has better defence and skills than Leonard. You don't have to agree but that is just my opinion.

With all due respect, our little discussion in the history section proved you place "***ish" fighters on a high pedestal. You claimed McLarnin was prime in his last fight with Ross and I suggested otherwise.

If I really wanted to hate on Ross I would make a thread highlighting his ties with Al Capone, Zionists and funding of Israeli ********* groups.

No. Robinson, Pep, Valuev, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Hagler all are more complete because they have a better offensive game.

I don't know, but you seem to take exception and not want to give due credit. It hasn't been the first time.

                      Fair enough.

Yes, you did suggest otherwise. But you didn't answer my last post pointing out that out of McLarnin's last 6 losses he fought 3 prime ATG HOF'ers going 1-2 against Ross, 1-1 against Canzoneri and 1-0 against Ambers. Thats not to mention his win for the title 1 fight before these 6 against ATG HOF Young CorbetIII. At 27 years old how was he washed up?

If I really wanted to hate on Ross I would make a thread highlighting his ties with Al Capone, Zionists and funding of Israeli ********* groups.

Lol, ties to Al Capone? I can name plenty of fighters with ties to Capone. Big deal. I would however like to hear your opinions on his so called ties to Zionists and Israeli ********* groups.
