New Top 10 Heavyweight lists!

1. Vitali - Until he's beaten...inactivity is pissing me off.

2. Brewster - He's here because of recent accomplishments and power. Wlad, Meehan, Golota, WBO champ...

3. Toney - More talent than anyone in the division by a mile. Hopefully he gets a crack at Vitali.

4. Byrd - Longest reigning champ, struggled with average fighters but still holds onto that IBF belt. Good comeback against McCline.

5. Ruiz - I hate to say it but yes he's at the 5 spot. Still holds onto his belt and still can beat some of the less talented guys.

6. Rahman - He's really not all that great but he's probably better than the rest. Good overhand right and recent string of wins put him here. The Barrett fight will tell us more.

7. Brock - Yes Brock is #7. He has good all-around skills and has the intangibles to succeed. Has a good win over McCline and has shown that he can get off of the canvas to win.

8. Peter - He's here based on potential and power alone. Hasn't beaten anyone worth a damn and we still have to find out if he can take a big punch.

9. Krasniqi - Good wins over SSS and Whitaker. He has skills and I guess we'll know more about him after the Brewster fight.

10. Barrett/Wladimir (tie) - Both guys have some good wins on their records but both are inconsistent and have obvious flaws. Again, we'll have to see how Barrett does against Rahman for more info, and Wlad will have to fight someone worth a damn, who can punch, in order for them to be any higher.

Outside looking in:

Juan Carlos Gomez, DaVarryl Williamson, Kirk Johnson

I like the list, good reasoning for each ranking as well...after #6, in just about everyone's rankings list, it's basically a grab-bag of guys with more flaws than skills....we need UNIFICATION!!!

Where does Samuel Peter fit into your top 10 list, following his KO victory last Saturday? Do any of the title holders drop/rise based on the recent non-negotiations for future matchups? Here's my newly revised top 10 list, feel free 2 pick it apart, add/subtract, etc....

CHAMP: Klitschko (has the Ring belt, so technically we still gotta call him "champ" until he finds his spine...er...until his back heals)

1. Brewster (KO wins vs. Vlad & Golota vault him into the #1 spot IMO, nobody's more deserving of a shot at the linear title)

2. Toney (wins vs. an old Evander and a boring Ruiz put Lights out in my #2 slot, maybe the most complete fighter at heavyweight)

3. Rahman (still the best right hand puncher in the division, although Sam Peter may have something 2 say about that)

4. Peter (our only up-&-comer in the division, maybe 1 year away from fighting the elite competition)

5. Byrd (has become stagnant ever since claiming the IBF strap, has no legit W's since that time, struggled vs. B- fighters such as Oquendo, Golota, and McCline, but still the slickest boxer at heavyweight)

6. Ruiz (the worst fighter to ever defend the crown, yet he won't go away!)

7. Brock (decent prospect, but can he hang in there vs. a KO puncher? I highly doubt it....)

8. Barrett ("the gatekeeper" is always 1 punch away from a W, but doesn't have the best beard... matchup vs. The Rock should be exciting)

9. Vlad K (still has more natural ability than anybody out there, but NO CHIN will haunt him forever)

10. Touch of Sleep (we'll call him gatekeeper #2, not great at anything, but pretty good at everything)

best, in terms of consistency and accuracy, I totally agree....I guess I shoulda been more specific, The Rock has the most devastating POWER with the over-hand right, relative to any other fighter in the biz

1. Vitali Klitschko [looks to be a class above, but still needs more challenges. holds the legitimate belt.]

2. Chris Byrd [has beaten VK, it was still a win regardless of the circumstances. byrd also has one of the best current records, has only lost twice.]

3. James Toney [beat WBA champ ruiz, but was using drugs, so there's maybe some confusion there. i would still put him in the number 3 slot.]

4. John Ruiz [he's still WBA champ, and still has some good wins on his record like rahman.]

5. Luan Krasniqi [very good technical boxer, coming off a good win over whitaker,lennox lewis said he was one of the toughest sparring partners he had ever faced.]

6. Lamon brewster [can be outboxed by a good ''boxer'' but still deserves credit for good wins over wlad klitschko and golota. and he is after all WBO champ.]

7. Samuel Peter. [another guy who can possibly be outboxed, but he does have murderous punches, and he's still young and can maybe develop more technically.]

8. Calvin Brock. [good win over McCline, looks to have good boxing ability and heart.]

9 Hasim Rahman. [Rahman is one of the best operators in the heavyweight divison when he is on his game, great jab and overhand right]

10. Juan Carlos Gomez.[i feel this guy is the most gifted heavyweight out there in terms of boxing ability, a lot depends on how motivated he is. the dark horse of the division IMO.]

So technically Brewster KO'd the guy who beat Ruiz and Byrd recently in the 1st round...

u put Luan Krasniqi over Brewster for beating Whitaker, when brewster just KO'd Golota and Wlad????? You also forgot Barrett, who beat Guinn, undefeated Beck, and was robbed against Mesi.

Brewster has some pretty ugly losses and in fact I think one of those was to a Whitaker. Also, Brewster (speaking of "robberies" was gifted was Meehan by most accounts).

Mesi didn't rob anyone. Barrett-Mesi was just a close fight. Oquendo_byrd is a real robbery if you ask me.

But anyway yeah, Sactown..Peter too high dude. I like himt oo and I hope he KO's everyone, but Brock and Barrett and Wlad should all be higher based on their comp. Brock did just beat McCline after all and is still undefeated.

Yeah I ruffled a few feathers with Peter's top 5 ranking, I'm basing it on pure potential at this point because I think with his punching power that he could KO any of the guys I listed below him....the other guys definitely have more credentials and bigger wins at this point, but remember that we won't know too much about Peter until we see him vs. a belt-holder, and that he won't fight another top 10 guy w/o a belt because he's already top 10 in the sanctioning bodies....so basically, I understand not agreeing with me ranking him so high, but until he's beaten I won't be proven wrong, and it's all subjective anyhow becuase there's no undisputed champ and few top contenders

i feel boxers can only be ranked by their achivements, and wheaher or not they are champions, thats why guys like ruiz have to be in or around the top, just like chris byrd also does. wins are wins regardless of how legitimate some people feel they are.
