How many "would've been great" fights did Ref Joe Cortez ruined?

The boxing world can only hope that no referee will follow on the footsteps of one biased Joe Cortez who seemed overly eager to steal the spotlight from the fighters themselves.

Hatton has a point when he was recently saying he wants to fight floyd again . He knows that he only lost to Floyd because Cortez decided that Hatton should not be allowed to fight his fight.

Cortez also took too much pity for @ss-****d Lorenzo that he actually awarded him the victory against Soto.

Cortez hatred towards undefeated British fighters is so obvious. the Hatton issue is proof enough but there was also the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight wherein he actually did a 180 turn from his overly-intrusive way officiating in favor of Hopkins. But as successful as he was in ruining the Hatton fight, he failed to manipulate the bhop-Calzaghe fight

Are there any other big fights wasted by Joe Cortez ?

        You mean Ricky Hugton?

There could've been five refs, Mayweather would've still surgically picked him apart.

surgically picking opponents apart is Manny's expertise. Stop associating this phrase w/ Floyd

I hate Cortez for the aforementioned reasons the TS has stated. I remember Cortez getting in the way of the action and 'over officiating' in the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight. The guy is just plain disruptive...

Cortez did an excellect job in the May/Fatton fight. Fatton was all the way turned up, he was over doing it man.How you swing for the back of someones head when half their body is hanging thru the ropes? Cortez was even giving Floyd warnings for rough stuff so you neither or Fatton have a gripe here.

You're obviously kidding, when one thinks of surgically picking apart, you think of precise utensils like a laser or scaple. Manny is more like a sledgehammer. Nothing surgical about that.
