this is a good thread...i didnt mean to hi-jack

agreed, those are the biggest draws in the US...outside the US, i dont think Cotto-Foreman would draw the 50K people in europe that watch the klitchkos or when Hatton fought

Those are the top sports. Of them all the majority of the best players/teams/athlethes are american and most of the top players in their respective sport are american except soccer.

everyone came back last year. they were all under contract.

this year only ones under contract are kobe , ron , lamar , pau , drew , sasha and luke.

they'd rather pay the new scrubs rookie minimum than pay guys like mbenga , morrison , etc. who have been in the league a couple of years and their minimum is much higher.

lakers at $83 million with only 6-7 players right now.

the money to field the rest of the roster will be used on veterans...they're not gonna crutch their 3-peat hopes on a bunch of kids...at least i hope not

you only play 7-8 man rotation in the playoffs.

kobe , pau , ron , lamar , sasha , fish , luke and maybe brown.

morrison , powell and mbenga don't even play.

no need to pay them $1-2 million each , when you can get a couple of kids for rookie minimum.

they'll get a few vets to round out the bench but they'll find a spot for at least one of those kids since they're cheap.

                    that's not the point.

teams shorten up the rotation in the playoffs.

you don't need 12 guys to play.

                    it's not going cheap , it's smart.

wtf pay vets 4 times more than rookies when they're not even gonna play?

rookie minimum is about 1/3 or 1/4 of veteran's minimum.

you just need #9-15 players for practice.

it's players #1-8 who are actually gonna play.
