kind of a contradiction though because Salita and Foreman was getting praised for their Religion...

I haven't yet seen fights either of these two guys from the beginning, so I don't know what they do to invoke the Creator's blessings or whatever. I don't agree with it, but I feel that
whatever they do that way may be just pure PR, the way the Klitschkos are introduced as "DR.".

I've never known ***s to be ostentatiously religious, especially in the ring, and there have been many ***ish fighters over the years. The most I've ever seen is that they would wear a "Shield of David", or as it's sometimes called, a "Star of David" on their trunks. I used to do the same, and never felt it was a religious gesture, but purely to let people know who I was, and to show pride in my people. But there was no religion involved. Nowadays, I think that most fighters reserve the space on their trunks for sponsors adverts.

The famous long-reigning light-heavyweight king Maxie Rosenbloom, [doesn't this sound like Ronnie what's-his-name, Manny P.'s PR journalist] who became a well known comedian after his ring days, used to joke that he sold advertising on the soles of his boxing boots,...... although I don't know if he was ever knocked down, in hundreds of fights.

It makes me glad he is a believer in God, because I too am a Christian. Religion to some fighters is a really big thing, such as Pacquiao and his Catholic beliefs. If it bothers you, the only reason is I can see is because of some sort of hatred for religions or just plain ignorance.

I don't hate on Catholics, ******s or other religious followings that fighters may be into, I just don't believe in it myself. If a fighter wants to proudly announce to the whole world if he believes in frogs as his Gods, so be it.

Yes man, that's the hypocrital part that people don't get. People take for granted that god is on their side and bla bla bla, so what happens if you loose?

My father-in-law was a fervent congregant of the Plymouth Bretheren, and, not satisfied with leaving religious tracts on my table, (which more or less caused us to go to live in Israel for many years) he wrote us that the "days of Armageddon" are approaching, pointing to the Mt. St. Helen's eruption as the "sign". Used to drive us nuts.

I could tell you a few stories about encounters with these lunatics which you might not believe, but true nevertheless. What always astonishes me is that these people are allowed to walk around, get jobs, get married, raise little crazies like themselves.

One time, my next door neighbour called to my door at 1 a.m. with her baby in her arms, insisting on giving him to me, that God had just spoken to her and told her the baby had to be brought up as a ***. Before I got her out of the house (with the aid of police and Social workers) I was "more than a little perturbed".

I suppose the old saying that "it takes all sorts to make a world" is very true.

Did it ever occur to you to consider the counntless millions and millions of innocent individuals who have been slaughtered,..... and tortured........ and maimed......., and driven crazy in the name of religion.....often perpetrated by the very sort of people who go around mouthing their ostentatious beliefs, (about which they really know very little) and shoving them down the throats of others???
