Religion and boxing. Is it cool or not so much?

I respect their desire and fervour, but that does not mean that it should be shoved down my throat. If they only knew how ******ly silly they appear with their slavish and exhibitionistic displays of "piety" they would cringe.....as they damn well should.
If they'd lived in the days of the early "saints" they could have contributed to their immense outpourings of "pious forgery" ........as it's now termed by scholars of religion .
Nowadays there is no need for us to be subjected to their psychological cravings.Comment

Btw, just imagine two christian fighters facing each other, who's winning? God's more beloved son or the most talented man because they're both asking god for protection and all that stuff.Comment

Yes, that can cause a problem, can't it. We had that situation in WW1 when each opposing army was being addressed, before battle by clergymen and priests, each telling the poor kids that "God is with us".........Comment

I am an atheist, so it is all amusing to me. I don't really care that much.
What I find interesting is that when these religious people win its "I would like to thank God for this win" but when they lose they don't say something like "God made me lose." All the successes are God's but all the failures are mine
There is no Big Brother up there. Get over it. You win because of your hard work and talent. Period.Comment

So it wasn't part of the plan of god? That's a very primitive way of accepting defeat.
It's like some religious prick told me that Haiti's earthquake was because they're a pagan nation, man, I was about to punch the ****er just for being so ignorant. Damn I just hate religions, it's not Ward's fault, let him thank him all he wants.Comment
