Oscar De La Hoya has never been P4P champion, but he has always received the bigger purse in his bouts because he sells more PPVs and put more fans in the seats. The P4P title doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to the money draw. All that matters is who can produce the most money. In this case, it is Mayweather. Roy Jones spent over half his career as the P4P champion, but he couldn't draw flies to his bouts. The same applied to Mosley and Hopkins.

I believe that Floyd is the better fighter here, and the bigger draw. But it is hard to argue against the fact that Pac is currently rated higher by the media. But can he really be P4P king and the underdog?

I thought this thread was going to be a little thoughtful about how P4P lists are just fabrications to ensure popular fighters get attention so more casual fans and ppl new to the sport know who they are, but I see its just another whiny blah blah Floyd Pac thread.

it doesnt matter because most boxing writers and experts have floyd as #1 P4P right now.....thats how you know you are a bigger draw....you can come back and after 2 fights people think you are #1 P4P again

Since I have been a member on here, its common knowledge that when a fighter demands more than he is actually worth, he prices himself out of the fight. Its the equivalent of "ducking". Or, paramount to saying, "if i'm gonna lose, i want to be paid nicely".

Hence the sane posters pointing out that pacq doesnt have a leg to stand on when he makes these public statements about fear and purse. U do know that it is ur god that is doing the most crying about splits, right?

So the BS of the month is that "real fans" shouldnt care about purse splits and ppvs. Regardless of the fact that one of the fighters we want to see win/lose is using it as a tool to "duck"

Here is another example of trying to steer the point of the thread in a new direction. You can start a thread and ask the question of P4P/purse split diffrence if you want to go there...

IMO, pacq is only #1 so the public can pressure him into fighting him. The thing is, this is the last guy that he would fear or lose to. pacq is a bigger hypejob than pbf. The only difference is that one has skills and the other has PEDs(allegedly)
