No.....he broke them up when they held on to each other.....and it was actually Mayweather who initiated the holding alot of the time to blunt Hatton's offense. When they both fought inside cleanly Cortez allowed it. I have seen the fight many many many times. The more times you watch it the more you realise he had no bearing on the outcome. When i watched it the first time my reaction was that Cortez wasn't giving Ricky a fair shake at certain times, however after watching it for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th......time you realise he had no bearing or influence at all. He let Hatton fight inside alot........it didn't help him. He was losing inside and outside.....he was out muscled and out skilled.

Every action has an effect/reaction to say he had no bearing on the fight is just ******.

If a guy is holding you and the ref doesn't break it up, you push the guy off. If you do it a few times, the ref will stop the clinching. Allan Green didn't do this. He didn't do a damn thing. He didn't protest. He didn't back his way out of a corner. He didn't use his reach to keep Ward at bay. he didn't do a damn thing to win the fight. I have been watching boxing for more than 20 years or about the same amount of time you have been attend the local school for the mentally ******ed.

You are not allowed to push in clinches, you can punch urself out but not push because it might accidentally injure a fighter via falling of the ring(ala Kermit the frog cintron), or falling down awkwardly.

But we knew this, he lets Hopkins initiate 2.8 million clinches in the Calzaghe fight. He's a hometown ref. And bent as a crowbar.

Cortez is very bad, and did screw him. But Hatton has benifitted by the same type of Hometown, onesided awful refereeing , his whole career. Just ask Kostya Tzyu, whom I thought could have won his fight with Hatton, if it was'nt for that worse than Cortez Referee, who let Hatton maul and braul to no end, but as soon as Kostya started doing the same thing, and getting the advantage, he broke them. So yes he got screwd, but not as bad as Kostya, since Kostya could of actally won.

Do you agree?? Ward hit green at will while getting mauled to death and the ref didn't do a damn thing. Meanwhile poor ricky got separated and warned everytime he initiated clinch and attempted to hit floyd in the clinch.

LOL but don't get me wrong floyd would have beaten hatton regardless by TKO but I just wanna know which is which. Is it legal or illegal??
