Once Dirrell takes him to the cleaners he will be just another contender.
Like it or not, Andre Wards career is setting up to be an all time great

My god; the dude is skilled and talented and put on a good performance against a seasoned and skilled guy, granted.
But it's kinda irking me how people are tossing around pfp top 5 and future ATG left right and centre. He has potential, lots of it, but how many people have we seen with great potential who disappeared or got demolished?
Having three hometown fights detracts slightly, has to be said ..
For the record I think he loses to Dirrell, narrowly.Comment

When Jose beats the top guy in his division, we can start the talk.
I didn't say he was atg or even p4p. What I said was it is setting up. He is following the paths of other greats and is very comparable when you are talking about progression.Comment

I can't ever support Andre Ward for two reasons:
1. Affiliated with Conte. And I saw that **** on his back that looked like acne marks. I'm not outright accusing him of anything. But I have my su****ions.
2. He never goes outside his element.
I'm not even an Alan Green fan or a Kessler fan for that matter, but I hope Sweetness taps that ass tonight.Comment

Talk about counting the chickens before the eggs hatch. One fight changes a person's opinion of a fighter way too much to see where Ward will end up. I wish him nothing but the best though, he would be a model example of someone who could carry the sport.Comment

He has the oppotunity to craft an ATG resume with wins over Miranda, Kessler, Green, Dirrell and possibly Abraham and Froch depending on who gets through and as expected if both Ward and Bute win their matches (Hopkins and Super 6) that's another win in the bag.
Will he win all of those (especially the Bute fight) I don't know and at what point will he have to move up in weight? Can he beat Dawson? Again I don't know but he's got one hell of an opportunity.Comment
